Wow it feels good to be in Manhattan. I feel as though I have been cheating on my true love all summer and now I have to soak in all the Manhattan-y goodness before I’m in California.
I’ve already had an awesome, jam packed 24 hours here:
This morning after a great job interview in Murray Hill I finally got to experience Bare Burger. My order was nothing fancy– a veggie burger on brioche with no toppings. The burger was delicious though and pleasantly filling.
From Bare Burger I walked over to the mondo Macy’s at Herald Square in search of a new pair of flats and black pumps.. no such luck.
From Macy’s I walked to Time Square in hopes of buying cheap broadway tickets. I settled for Student Rush tickets to see Evita tonight. Luckily NYU gave me an ID that doesn’t expire until 2015, SWEEEET. I’ve never seen Evita before and I’m excited to see Ricky Martin and Michael Ceveris perform.
It was finally time to head back downtown… but first I had to make a quick stop and get vegan ice cream. Salted caramel pecan from Stogo is the most addicting frozen concoction I’ve ever tasted. I have a feeling I will be heading over there again before I leave…….
Tonight I’m hoping to try out something to-go from One Lucky Duck. If it isn’t obvious I decided to avoid food shopping at all costs during my brief visit here. I mean, 1. I’m lazy. and 2. I only have a few days in Manhattan and don’t want the food to not be used. My refrigerator here is a bit depressing right now and basically only has water bottles and expired beer
Day 6 How do you log your eating and/or workouts?
At the beginning of 2012 I kept a super detailed log of all my workouts and food intake in a fitness themed Moleskine notebook
(this was during winter break. I had a lot of free time and therefore spent most of my day at the gym)
it drove me a little bit crazy. It left me feeling guilty about what I did or did not eat any particular day and feeling guilty if I had to skip a workout or didn’t exercise as many hours as the week before. I think logging workouts is great for some people to feel accountable and see what they did, but for me personally it made me obsessive about what I was doing at the gym.
Do you keep a fitness or food log?

I miss NYC! (I lived there for 2 years when I was an actress.) I think I am the only person on the planet without an iPhone yet, but am sure I would be totally OCD about the fitness apps.
Here’s my food journal (aka – epic battles with trainer) and exercise log post: http://sheslosingit.net/2012/09/08/blogger-challenge-7-do-you-log-your-workouts-or-keep-a-food-journal/
