happy halloweekend everyone!
After taking a brutal group fitness class this morning I began thinking about what my personal training style will be. Will I be the drill sergeant type who doesn’t take your BS? Will I be the motivational cheerleader who reminds you that you can do it, only a few more!
Although I haven’t worked out with a personal trainer on that many occasions, when I am in a group fitness class I love a combination of both. I love someone who will push me past my comfort zone, but I also love someone who will give positive words of encouragement throughout. When I am a personal trainer I hope I will be able to take all those things I learned from instructors I love and instructors who were not my style to become the best trainer I can be. Obviously knowing my stuff is a huge aspect of being successful, but I also think there is so much more to it than book knowledge.
What characteristics do you look for in a personal trainer?
after the killer class this morning I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes while listening to a Jillian Michaels Podcast. I’ve never been one to listen to podcast, but after listening to talk radio during my morning commute to work all summer I realized I really enjoy listening to talk radio. I don’t think it would be my thing while running since I like to match the rhythm of music, but it definitely made walking more fun

Lunch time I wanted something pumpkin-y… but the scorching hot weather here didn’t exactly agree. Hence, pumpkin over night oats! The best of both worlds
Pumpkin Overnight Oats
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 table spoons pumpkin butter
- 2 “spoonfuls” of canned pumpkin
- pinch of cinnamon
- pinch of pumpkin spice
topped with a spoonful of almond butter and a handful of granola (very exact measurements, no?)
I’ll admit, it looks kind of gross but it’s freaken delicious, cool, spicy and tastes like fall all at once. Perfect for those of us having a Fall heat wave…
hope you are all enjoying halloweekend!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen some pumpkin oatmeal and thought to myself, ‘I need to do this’. Great recipe! Pumpkin butter sounds so good right now.
