brrrrr Manhattan. What gives!
You know that awesome feeling when everything is going your way? I’m definitely feeling like that right now and I’m a bit scared what happens when the luck runs out….
For starters, I had the most awesome weekend ever.
Saturday morning spin class followed by an afternoon shopping spree? Yes please. I was rather excited to use my lululemon giftcards from Chanukah and reap the benefits of their personal trainer discount.
I am LOVING this new lulu zip-up. Perfect for a freezing cold day like today.
side note: totes rocking my “imagreatist” shirt! woot woot!
Saturday night I got dinner with a good friend from college and we saw a new play at Second Stage
Written by Quiara Alegría Hudes aka the awesome lady who wrote the book for In the Heights.
Sunday the boy came into the city and we saw a new musical Bare. I’ve been waiting to see this show live since I was in high school, so it was amazing to finally see the show on stage. It’s great for people who loved Spring Awakening and will hopefully bring a teenage crowd to the theater.
For the holidays the boy and I decided that our gift to each other would be in the form of tickets– I would get him tickets to a basketball game, and he would treat me to a broadway show.
Monday we went to go see the Knicks play the Nets at Madison Square Garden.
It was actually his first basketball game AND visit Madison Square Garden. Sadly the Knicks lost, but it was still a quality game.
and we ended the night with an Alec Baldwin sighting. Ironically it was while we were heading back to my apartment after dinner to watch 30 Rock. How ridiculous is that?
So I’ve been hinting at the fact that I’ve got big news……..
I quit my job as a personal trainer. While I loved many aspects of my job including my co-workers, my gym and the members I bonded with, I soon realized it was not the right job for me.
My passion lies in group fitness– after all I am an actor and love being on stage. Even as a gym-goer my favorite thing to do is take a group fitness class.
Working floor hours was also incredibly anxiety inducing for me. I’ve always felt a bit awkward in social situations so approaching members every day was a big challenge for me.
I don’t regret my time working there– ya don’t know if something is the right fit for you until you try it.performing
Don’t worry though, even though I quit my job I’m not unemployed 🙂 I’m still filling out paperwork and just starting out with my new jobs, but I’m feeling real good about these new opportunities. More news soon!
Welp, this is one spastic post.
Questions of the day:
who else is freezing their butt off in new york?
anyone else got exciting stuff going on?
any good celebrity sightings :)
(Alec Baldwin actually lives across the street from me. So does Chris Noth AKA Big from Sex and the City. Gotta love sighting my incredibly famous neighbors. )

Sounds like a great weekend. And congrats on quitting- I think if you aren’t happy then you should definitely move on and find something that will make you happy!!! I had a fun weekend away from the city snowboarding! 🙂
