Considering I work approximately 5 part time jobs (I honestly can’t keep track anymore) having two consecutive days off in a week is a blessing. This week I was lucky enough to get off Sunday & Monday. I thoroughly enjoyed my “weekend” however having Monday off meant Tuesday became the new Monday, womp womp.
I started my fake Monday with a nice sweat session at Refine. I love how each and every class I’ve taken there has been different– no need to worry about getting bored with the same ole same ole.
After my morning work out I wasn’t really craving lunch foods and suddenly remembered one of my favorite meals I used to eat in California: spinach smoothie in a bowl. I decided to put a new spin on my favorite smoothie in a bowl using the ingredients I already had
Very Berry Protein Smoothie in a Bowl
ingredients
For the smoothie:
- 1/2 a frozen banana
- handful of frozen strawberries
- handful of frozen blueberries
- 1 cup almond milk (I used vanilla )
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 scoop of protein powder (I used french vanilla vega-one protein)
Toppings:
- granola
- shredded coconut
Blend all the ingredients in a blender until it’s nice and smooth.
(look it’s the same color as the chia bag!)
Top with your favorite granola and some shredded coconut
Um, smoothie in a bowl was an excellent idea on this dreary, rainy New York afternoon. I will definitely be making it as a post workout lunch again soon.
My smoothie in a bowl kept me nice and full all afternoon while I was at a training session for a fitness center I’m auditioning with this week. I can’t give out the full details yet, but I did have an awesome afternoon learning the format of one of the classes I’m auditioning to teach.
After my afternoon in training it was time to head uptown for a few hours of work at one of my jobs.
Now I’m happy to be relaxing and watching last night’s Biggest Loser at the end of a long day.
