I keep waiting for my life to be a little less hectic… but that day has yet to come. Until then I am living a jam packed life of job interviews, observing classes and actually working.
My morning started off in Brooklyn observing Boot Camp classes at the studio I currently teach at as a kids fitness instructor. I’m super excited to start teaching boot camp classes there (and zuma!) After getting my butt kicked all summer at a boot camp in Westchester I can’t wait to return the favor.
what’s purple and crunchy and full of protein? my new favorite lunch of course. When it comes to food I go through these phases that once I find something I like I tend to have it multiple days in a row…. and then I get sick of it and forget about it. But for now I’m lovin’ this smoothie in a bowl.
Post smoothie bowl it was time to head down to SoHo for more teacher training. I am eternally grateful that the weather is warming up making the 20 minute walk to SoHo quite enjoyable. We even experienced some sunshine today in New York
After training I got to teach my biggest spin class yet- 4 participants. OH YEAH 🙂 Since none of them were repeats from my previous class I decided to stick with my first playlist. I felt a bit more shakey today while teaching and noticed myself saying the same things over and over again. It’s all about getting more and more comfortable teaching this format since my comfort zone is definitely teaching dance classes and strength training.
Post spin class it was time to meet up with two of my closest friends at Panera. One of the best things about living in Manhattan has been the fact that all my friends from home and sleep away camp now either live here, attend graduate school here or work here. I always tell people that my goal in life is to make everyone I love eventually move here so I never have to leave 🙂
aaaand I couldn’t resist trying out a dessert from the new vegan place in my neighborhood, Peacefood Cafe
um, this vegan peanut butter cheese cake might be the best / worst thing that ever happened to me and my lactose sensitive belly. It was so. freaken. good. Someone needs to watch me at all times so I don’t end up going there every night for cheesecake. Yes, I am a personal trainer, and a bit of a health nut… but sometimes you deserve an indulgence after a long day.
what’s your favorite dessert to pick up in the neighborhood?
I am so guilty of getting pumpkin bread from the Union Square Farmer’s Market anytime my favorite vendor is there. Luckily I usually stroll through there after a sweaty spin class 🙂
