it is so so cold outside… yet I am sitting in my apartment, eating ice cream and icing my forever injured shoulder. Brrrrrrrrr
I’ve been on a quest to find Wink “ice cream” in Manhattan ever since I saw my favorite fitness instructor tweet about it. I finally stumbled upon a few cartons right in my neighborhood. LifeThyme, you rock!
Healthy, dairy free, frozen dessert? Sign me up.
Tonight I taste tested the cocoa dough. It’s consistency is definitely far from ice cream (and dairy free ice cream replica’s) but it does the trick when craving a cool and refreshing dessert.
In actuality all I want in life is something that acts as a carrier for chocolate syrup (shockingly hershey’s is dairy-free) and sprinkles. Ugh, I just really love sprinkles.
It may not be the perfect stand in for ice cream, but it was good enough to make me go back for seconds, and hey who wouldn’t wanna… the whole carton is only 100 calories of guilt-free goodness.
My shoulder, specifically my right rotator cuff, is once again being rather needy. Just when I think tendonitis is going to leave me alone my arm starts screaming in pain again. The best thing I can really do for it is ice it and leave it alone. Easier said than done. Hopefully this is just a minor thing and because I took a yoga class yesterday (why does yoga of all things bother my arm? so weird).
Tomorrow is my last day of work before I head home to the suburbs for the holiday. Despite my love of bread, I really love Passover because it’s one of the few holidays my entire family gets together and it’s chock full of fun traditions. Every year my mom’s dad does something hilarious with our afikomen gift. Previous year’s gags include: hiding the money in a tennis ball, hiding the money in bars of soap, giving us a huge bag with crumpled $1 bills that we had to sort out ourselves, hiding the money in a safe that we had to figure out the code to…… the list goes on. I’m looking forward to some matzoh ball soup and quality time with the family in Westchester and Long Island
Time to start getting ready for bed— I gotta be up by 4:20 for work yeeesh.
Have you dealt with tendonitis?
What’s your favorite healthy rendition of ice cream?
