Happy Birthday To Meeeeeeeee!!!!
I’ve been busy celebrating my birthday since last Wednesday afternoon when I treated myself to a matinee performance of “The Last Five Years” and a 305 class at night.
On Thursday, my actual 23rd birthday, I had a jam packed day of all my favorite things starting off with a super sweaty class at Uplift Studios. It’s been awhile since I’ve taken Steph’s Uplifting Cardio class and I almost forgot how intense that class can be– cardio moves are no joke! By the end of 1 hour I was one sweaty but happy birthday gal.
Next up was a flying trapeze class! Once I saw the weather forecast was sunny and warm for by birthday I couldn’t resist signing up for a class
It was one of my best trapeze classes since my shoulder injury! Every class I feel myself getting a little bit stronger and slowly but surely I’m getting back to where I was last year. Beautiful weather sure helps too…
After spending the day doing all my favorite sweaty activities it was time go see Pippin on Broadway with the boy!
I had already seen Pippin with my family a few weeks ago but was DYING to see it again for my birthday. It’s that good! Added bonus? Cobie Smulders and Josh Radnor from How I Met Your Mother were in the audience along with Eugene Levy and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Talk about a star studded audience for my birthday! The boy and I were actually freaking out when we spotted the HIMYM actors because we are HUGE fans of the show. Very exciting for both of us. Oh, and the show is still seriously amazing. Jeremy even said that it was his favorite shows he’s seen with me… and that’s saying a lot because we’ve gone to some quality shows!
Back home it was time to finally indulge in some dessert after 1 month without it
Vegan Peanut Butter Cheesecake for the lady, Cheesecake Factory’s dutch apple cheesecake for the boy.
So far I’m definitely a fan of 23!
I’m usually not one to pencil in my workouts unless it’s a class I have to sign up for, but nowadays I’m realizing that I really need to visualize my workout week ahead of time so I don’t end up doing 5 days in a row of barre and zero cardio in 1 week…
Last Weeks Workouts:
Monday: went to Exceed (Strength)- done!
Tuesday: barre + spin class – done!
Wednesday: 305 aka super sweaty cardio dance class – done!
Thursday: cardio class at Uplift (includes strength training) + trapeze- done!
Friday: hopefully run + barre or rest- rest! Ended up going to an audition in the AM instead of working out
Saturday: Uplift bootcamp outside (not sure if this is going to be more cardio or strength based)- done!
Sunday: TBD either run, spin, barre or rest. – ended up going home to Westchester so I went to the gym and did a quick strength training workout.
This Week:
Monday: easy run/walk + Exceed
Tuesday: barre + spin
Wednesday: exceed + barre or spin(?)
Thursday: spin + trapeze
Friday: rest? or Run
Saturday: rest or run
Sunday: strength training of some sort
The beginning of my workout week tends to be super planned out- I sign up for classes or know what classes at work I will be attending. Come Friday, Saturday, Sunday it tends to be less predictable because 1) I don’t know what classes at work will have room in them, and if a class is full I can’t go. 2) I don’t always know if I’ll be spending the weekend in the city or in Westchester. There’s a pretty good chance I’ll be heading home for memorial day weekend which means my weekend workouts will be at my gym in Westchester. Northern Westchester needs to get on the boutique fitness band wagon!
Time to eat a quick snack from getting my butt kicked at Exceed tonight!
what’s your perfect birthday?
do you plan out your weekly workouts?
