This weekend went by SO FAST. The boy got here Friday night and we kicked off the weekend with Mike Birbiglia who was performing his new stand-up comedy material. The show was HYSTERICAL and we’ve been quoting Birbigs ever since.
Saturday night was “Love Labour’s Lost” with my parents and the boy as a part of Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte theater.
Shakespeare in the Park is one of my absolute favorite summer traditions and I was thrilled that it wasn’t raining or too hot for our evening of outdoor theater. If you’ve never been to Shakespeare in the Park it’s definitely an NYC summer must!
Today was Sunday Runday and I ran 5 [painfully slow] miles. Running for an entire hour alone really gives you a lot of time to think. I’m still not loving all this lonely running time but hopefully come fall it will feel like a treat when my brain needs a break from chemistry and bio. Despite how challenging running continues to be for me I am 100% determined to conquer this half marathon and cross that finish line injury free and still breathing.
Besides the run it was a nice relaxing Sunday with the boy– brunch, walking around the city, Ralph’s Ices and dinner before he had to head back home to Westchester
peanut butter cookie dough Ralph’s was well worth dealing with the dairy induced the belly ache.
Now I’m figuring out my weeks schedule and cleaning like crazy preparing for the week.
Here’s my workout recap from last week. Happy to say I got all my runs in even with some rainy weather on Thursday!

THIS WEEK
Monday: Refine Outdoor Bootcamp
Tuesday: Barre + Run 4 miles
Wednesday: Uplift Strength
Thursday: Barre + Run 4 miles
Friday: trapeze + Uplift Strength
Saturday: barre, yoga or rest
Sunday: Yankee Stadium 5K
I’m thinking of hitting up one of the run clubs nearby, either at lululemon or paragon. I don’t know much about run clubs so I’m a bit intimidated… but could use the camaraderie and distractions.
Also, the Yankee Stadium 5k totally creeped up on me out of no where. I spent the entirety of last summer training for that race to prove to myself that I could run 3 miles without stopping– something I had never done before. I’m happy to say that I’m feeling confident in my ability to run a 5k this time around and hadn’t really been thinking about it until today. Should be lots of fun running around Yankee Stadium for the third year in a row… and this time I’ll have my good friend Sarah by my side. Should be a great race!
