-a perfect trapeze class. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect trapeze class last night- the weather was beautiful, 3 of my favorite instructors were teaching and my close friend Samantha was there since we were celebrating our 4 year “Flyversary”.
The past few weeks my trick, the layout, has felt the best it’s been since my injury in March 2012. Getting back to where I once was has been a long process, but last night I got the “ok” to throw my layout to the catcher for the first time since my injury!
Still not perfect but I can’t complain about making the catch! I was floating on cloud nine for the rest of the night with a goofy smile on my face
– quick tuna fish lunch. I recently started eating fish again (I had a bad food poisoning experience a few years ago…) and I feel like I’ve discovered a whole new world of food. Salmon for dinner? Yes please. Sushi takeout? Yum. This week my favorite lunch has been an old favorite from childhood- quick and easy tuna fish with a bit of mayonnaise.
As a kid I loved tuna with saltine crackers but this week I’ve just been enjoying the tuna salad with a juicy afterwards.
– “I Can’t Believe It”– by Flo Rida (warning: lyrics are a bit… crude)
I heard this song in a few fitness classes this week and instantly fell in love with the beat. The lyrics aren’t the nicest but I kind of love running to it… Eh all songs can’t be as uplifting as Roar, right?
– Filtered water!
Major confession: I guzzle down plastic water bottles like it’s my job. NYC tap water is pretty tasty but I’m still a bit freaked out by the idea of drinking water straight from the tap. I finally purchased a Brita filter so I’m hoping to cut down on the heap of plastic bottles I recycle every week.
-early morning workouts- Being back in school means back to my old workout schedule. I’ve been doing my best to make it to 6am barre classes (yikes that’s early) and run before my 9:30am classes. Sometimes I’ve been successful… other days not so much but whenever I do get my butt out of bed super early it’s been worth it.
-lazy Friday nights. After an actioned packed week I’m more than happy to sit back and relax on a Friday night with some Indian food takeout and “Say Yes to the Dress”. I’m looking forward to a pretty low-key weekend of work, studying and a few fun workouts.
