Happy long weekend! After a pretty crazy week leading up to my first midterm of the semester I’m VERY grateful for a few days to recharge and regroup (before I take another midterm Friday. Womp womp). At the moment I am loving the free wifi on a train to Boston for an event with Reebok…. and obviously not studying for my chem midterm.
This weekend I spent some quality time in the suburbs with the boy and our good friends.
Oh hello, fall foliage. So nice to see you.
Every. single. time. my boyfriend drives me to my parent’s house from the train station I get out of the car and exclaim “IT SMELLS LIKE FALL!” He swears this is how the suburbs always smell, but I beg to differ, it definitely smells like fall!
We took advantage of the gorgeous weather and went apple picking. No one ended up buying apples so we really just went to eat apple cider donuts and walk around the field of apple trees.
You can’t say no to a FRESH apple cider donut. Mmmmmm
My workout plan of attack for last week ended up being a mega fail. Surprisingly my legs felt pretty rad by Wednesday morning (thank you, sports massage!) but I was feeling overwhelmed by all the work I needed to do for my midterm. When I first started this blog I was a senior in college learning how to balance my new found love for fitness, my desire to start cooking healthy and theater school. Now, 2 years later, I’m back in school and remembering just how tricky it is to “do it all” when school really has to be my number one priority. Trust me, I’d rather take a spin class than memorize amino acids.
So I skipped a few workouts, avoided cooking at all costs in favor of quick and satisfying takeout and delivery. It happens. And that snowballed into me skipping my planned morning workouts both yesterday and today for the sake of a few extra zzz’s. I undeniably needed the rest after the half marathon and not sleeping much this past week… but now it’s back to business. Even with another midterm on Friday.
LAST WEEK:
Monday: post half marathon REST
Tuesday: 45 minutes spin
Wednesday: stressed out rest day
Thursday: uplift fusion
Friday: 45 minutes spin
Saturday: nada
Sunday: nada
THIS WEEK:
Monday– strength training at the hotel (hold me to it!)
Tuesday– Crossfit
Wednesday– Uplift Strength, Maybe some barre…
Thursday– Run 4-ish miles
Friday– TBD- Spin + barre most likely
Saturday– rest day
Sunday– all day cycling certification. 2+ hours of cycling.
When life gets stressful do you ever fall off the fitness bandwagon?

So glad I found your blog! The design is adorable and I love NYC, hopefully I’ll be living there some day. I’m a college freshman so I completely understand the whole balancing schoolwork and fitness thing. From this post, it seems like you’ve been doing a pretty good job already!

thanks for the comment! One of the weirdest things about being in school is definitely learning how to find that balance again– it’s hard! But definitely doable
