Woops, I definitely meant to post this yesterday… but by the time I got home from seeing “The Last 5 Years” in concert at 54 Below it was way past my bedtime (and already Saturday). Who says I can’t talk about my favorite things on a Saturday 🙂
I’m pretty sure this was my first yoga class since July. YIKES! My mat was dusty and my body was creaky, but it felt SO GOOD. Every week I tell myself “you should go to yoga” and it just never works out… but when I do my body and mind thank me. Last week I took a spin class before my bio midterm to get rid of my pre-test jitters and yesterday I decided taking a yoga class would keep me calm during my chemistry midterm. Now I just gotta keep going back!
-gym dance classes. For the next month I will be sweating at Reebok Sports Club. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a NYC gym membership so I’m super excited to spend the next month working out there. Of course the first thing I wanted to do was take a group fitness class. I’d heard amazing things about John Paolillo’s dance party and knew that would be the perfect first class at Reebok since I love me some dance. I had a blast learning choreography and dancing for the first time in far too long.
– slow cooking!
I’ve been thinking about getting a slow cooker for a while now, I’m always seeing great recipes where basically all you do is dump a bunch of ingredients in the cooker and walk away for 8 hours. How easy does that sound? I currently have a sweet potato and bean soup cooking away and I’m very excited to test out my first slow cooker recipe. Here’s to hopping the soup is edible and my apartment doesn’t burn down…
– Midterms are OVER! Well the first batch of them any way. Now it’s time to take a deep breath and catch up on all the things I’ve been neglecting.
-oh and I finally bought my race photos form the half
That expression is called “running a half marathon while crying and screaming and flailing”
Hope you are all having a great weekend! It’s the first weekend in awhile where I’m not traveling anywhere and the boy isn’t here visiting. While I obviously prefer when he’s here, I’m happy to have low-key Saturday night of cooking and homework since it’s been so hectic these past 2 weeks with midterms and traveling.
What’s your favorite way to relax during the weekends
When the boy is here I love our relaxing Friday night tradition of dinner at our favorite Indian food restaurant and watching some 30 Rock before I inevitably pass out at 11pm…
