It happened. Today I broke out the peacoat and riding boots. A sad sad day for this summer loving girl.
This wrap around scarf from American Apparel has been my bff all week. It keeps me nice and cozy in the freezing cold lecture hall. It also makes a nice blanket when you feel like taking a nap during chemistry…
So I might’ve signed up for my next half marathon. Oh yes, after spending the whole summer regretting that fact that I signed up to run a half marathon, I’ve decided to do it all again, but this time for a cause.
I heard about Team in Training thanks to one of my good friends from high school who now works for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. The way it works is you agree to fundraise a minimum amount for the organization, and they do the rest– provide training runs, coaches, transportation, hotel and guaranteed race entry. My family has always been a big supporter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society since I have family members effected by both diseases. I knew it was the perfect charity to team up with for my second half marathon.
Long before I thought I would ever run a half marathon (let alone a second) I had a few dream races picked out. I’m determined to participate in a Disney race since I adore both Disney World and Disneyland. I also would love to run the Nike Women’s Half Marathon since there’s a special Tiffany necklace waiting for you at the finish line.
When I saw that I could run the Nike Women’s Half with Team in Training I knew I wanted in. I wanted that Tiffany necklace, I wanted to sign up for my next big race and stop torturing myself about it, and I wanted to do it with an amazing charity.
April 27, 2014 I will be there running my little heart out in DC so that Tiffany’s necklace can be mine 🙂
The running bug definitely bit me and now I totally understand why people say they hate running but they love racing- the energy at a race is SO infectious. So now it’s on to the next half marathon!
