Happy Thanksgiving Eve/ First night of Chanukah all! After class this morning I got out of the city as fast as I could before the holiday madness began. I wasn’t the only one with that idea and my train to Westchester was packed with people heading home for the holidays. It feels good to be home for the first time in what feels like forever!
Tonight my old co-workers from day camp are getting together for our 4th Annual Thanksgiving Eve outing to Chili’s. There usually ends up being 20+ people at these get-togethers so I’m super excited to catch up with people and eat some bottomless chips with salsa.
Tomorrow, if the weather permits, I’m signed up to do my first ever Turkey Trot with my running buddy/ amazing friend Sarah. I’m a wee bit concerned about the frigid forecast since I’m a weenie when it comes to cold weather and an even bigger weenie when it comes to running in cold weather. I’ve spent the past few weeks scouting out the best warm weather running outfits and pray my outfit tomorrow will keep me nice and toasty for all 5 miles.
1. Asics Lite Show Tights. The colors are even more amazing in real life.
2. Athleta Space Dye Hoodie. I’m not sure if I’m just going to wear this leading up to the race or actually run in the cozy hoodie. I’m sure I will get a lot of use out of it throughout the winter.
3. Lululemon Run Swiftly Long Sleeve. This seems to be the quintessential winter workout top… I see everyone wearing it. I like that it’s a great piece for layering.
4. Athleta Power Tec Gloves. Keeps your hands warm + you can still text (tweet!) and fumble with your playlist. Wins all around.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate and it’s raining/ snowing/ too icy (which seems likely unfortunately) Sarah and I are going to a local 90 minute bootcamp class. Some people come home and catch up on sleep during the holidays… I wake up ridiculously early for fun thanksgiving fitness events.
Hope everyone has a lovely thanksgiving whether your turkey trotting… or just eating some turkey 🙂
