–Chanukah’s over already? I guess the downside of Thanksgivukah is that it’s now only December 5th but it’s already time for my menorah to be packed up.
Funny story- when bought Chanukah candles at CVS last week the cashier commented how beautiful those candles were and she would get some for her apartment because she hadn’t seen them yet. She definitely didn’t realize they were meant for Chanukah. I guess pretty Chanukah candles can be an all year round kind of thing?
— Last night I enjoyed a nice pre-bedtime vinyasa class.
I seem to dust off the ol’ yoga mat every few months just for it to get dusty again. It’s not you yoga, it’s me. Every time I do take class though, I wonder why I ever stop. Last night was once again one of those nights where I thought man, yoga kind of rocks. My body has been feeling a bit creaky and sore so yoga was a gooood choice. I haven’t taken a class that late in awhile (probably because I’m in pajamas by 8PM most nights…) but I really enjoyed it as a nice relaxing way to end my day. Sometimes when I workout in the middle of the day I spend the whole class feeling guilty about how I should be doing school work, but taking a class after a long productive day meant I could just enjoy the class and relax.
— I went a bit veggie crazy at Trader Joe’s today
I don’t dislike veggies… I just don’t like going through the hassle of preparing them. Food tends to go bad in my fridge before I get a change to eat it (this is due to my own laziness + living alone). Frozen veggies to the rescue! I haven’t been to TJ’s in a while because I generally avoid it like the plague (I’m sure other NYCers can commiserate how absolutely dreadful the Union Square Trader Joe’s is during peak hours. YIKES!). Today I was able to sneak in during a less crowded hour aka it was still crowded but the line wasn’t looped all the way around the store. I decided to stock up on frozen veggies because I was impressed with their selection.
Is it sad that I’m super excited to test out the asparagus spears? I love grilled asparagus, but obviously don’t have a grill in my Manhattan apartment….
— Hellooooo beautiful new running shoes!
My old, burnt cinnamon colored Mizuno Inspires have lived a long, happy, life. They kept me going this summer when I thought half marathon training was the worst. thing. ever. They accompanied me on every long run, and they crossed the finish line of my first half marathon. Apparently I’m feeling a bit sentimental about my old running shoes, but it was time for a shiny new pair.
I ended up going with the same model because if it ain’t broke don’t go trying out new shoes. They’re also pink and lime green so that was a deciding factor. New shoes got me all excited to officially start half marathon training this weekend!
Alrighty, I gots to go back to studying now. Hope you are all having a lovely Thursday.
What are your (random) Thursday Thoughts?

I went to a hot yoga class on Monday night for the first time in ages! So good to be back at it – and nice way to end a long day.

hot yoga sounds LOVELY right now. I think that’s going to have to become a winter thing for me.
