My Papa Paul passed away Monday night.
It’s hard to put together the words to sum up how I feel right now and to truly honor my grandpa and all he accomplished in 90 years, yet I feel I need to say something.
He is the model that hard work pays off. My grandpa created a number of incredibly successful businesses– including the one that my father has worked for since before I was born. There was always something special about visiting my dad at work and knowing I’d get to see my grandpa as well, hard at work.
As a kid my family went out to my grandparent’s beach house in Montauk every summer. We all have fond memories of those technology-less visits where we learned how to play chess and fly kites.
My grandpa treated every single person with the kindness and respect they deserved. As a boss and business owner he is the example of how you should treat your employees and everyone you encounter. I hope some day I possess these same leadership qualities in whatever I do with my life. As my mother mentioned “I don’t think Paul has any enemies”. How many of us can really say that about ourselves?
Thank you, papa, for being an inspiration to us all.
