After much consideration (and staring at my most recent credit card bill…) I decided to sign up for Uplift’s fall challenge.
As much as I love being a group fitness explorer of sort, I’ve been craving a routine and predictability in my weekly workouts. Once I had an inkling that I would withdraw from my fall half marathon (cough cough, I’m officially not running now, cough cough) I knew I needed something to kick my keister into high gear and challenge me in a new way. Enter the Uplift challenge: a 6 week long program of unlimited classes with a motivating coach, inspiring team and a healthy dose of competition.
Today officially started the 6 week challenge with a fun little launch party.
A party with Uplift means wine is of course involved.
I got to meet my coach and fellow team mates and also took some preliminary measurements– body fat, how long it took me to run up and down a few flights of stairs and how many push-ups I can do in 2 minutes.
Throughout these 6 weeks I have my own additional challenges in mind, mainly cooking more and cutting down on take-out and delivery. Granted, this is also necessary to pay for this challenge… but still! I’ve been in a bit of a fitness slump these days and am excited to rev it up for these next few weeks.
Let the challenge begin!
