Happy first night of Chanukah 🙂
Tis the season to buy a whole lot of gifts for others! Why not support some awesome startups during the holiday season? Below are some gift ideas from a handful of my favorite startups. Be sure to let me know in the comments if you have other favorite startup gift ideas!
The Greatist Cookbook: 100 Healthy Recipes Anyone Can Make. I’m a HUGE fan of Greatist and think their website is a killer resource for the health + fitness community. Greatist partnered up with a handful of food bloggers and nutrition experts to create this e-cookbook chock full of healthy and super easy recipes.
Birchbox. Give a friend the gift of beauty with a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription to Birchbox. Every month they will receive a box in the mail of travel-sized beauty goodies that can be anything from fancy shampoos to a trendy lip gloss. And honestly, who doesn’t love getting packages in the mail?
Bombas. Nothing beats a gift that also gives back. This relatively new startup donates 1 pair of socks for every pair sold. Bonus, these socks are amazing too. They make a great stocking stuffer or secret santa gift for the fitness aficionado in your life.
Stitch Fix (affiliate link). I’ve been a long time supporter of Stitch Fix and think they offer a pretty brilliant service. First you fill out a style survey talking about what clothing styles you love, like and hate plus the kind of clothing you’re shopping for. Then your Stitch Fix stylist hand picks 5 items that they think you will love and they ship the box on out. It’s a great way to spice up your wardrobe and try on things you wouldn’t necessarily gravitate towards. Stitch Fix offers gift cards in variation denominations.
In-game items. Trust me, there’s nothing gamers love more than getting free items in a game they love. These items are usually available on sale via portals like yesgamers and others. If you know someone who is a gamer, there’s no better gift for them. And the best part is you don’t have to work up a sweat to get it. All it takes is a few clicks and they’ll get it immediately. Always works if you’re working in a time crunch.
ClassPass. Shamless self-promotion here but I’d probably mention CP even if I didn’t work for them :). ClassPass is an all-in-one fitness membership to some of the best classes in your city. Right now you can purchase a gift card for 1 class, 1 month or 3 months of ClassPass. It’s a great gift for anyone looking to explore the fitness scene in their city or who wants to sweat it out at the best studios in town.
Etsy. Etsy is an amazing marketplace for artists to sell their artwork in one spot. I’ve purchased numerous holiday gifts via Etsy this year (mom and dad I hope you’re excited!) and guarantee you’ll find something unique for everyone on your list.
Glamsquad. Pamper someone you love with a Glamsquad gift card for an “in house” blowout or makeover. Request a stylist on their app for a special occasion and they’ll send over a trained stylist to your apartment with all the necessary tools to get you all dolled up. Getting ready for a big party has never been easier.
