Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers, grandmothers, caregivers and just plain motherly figures out there. Thank you for all that you do. I am grateful each and every day for my supportive and caring mama <3
While Jeremy and I were eating dinner Saturday night I looked at him and said “Wow, this has been the longest weekend ever and it’s only Saturday”.
It’s pretty rare that I make statement like that considering I’m usually scrambling Sunday night to go food shopping and get ready for the week but fully stick by my comment. It was one jam packed and pretty great weekend if I do say so myself.
Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to head to New Jersey for the Mudderella Mud Run
I’ll save the dirty (yes literally) details for the full race recap post, but in one word it was FUN. Why did it take me so long to finally do an obstacle course race? Also I am shockingly sore right now especially in my triceps. Hoisting yourself over mud walls is tough work.
Saturday night was my graduation show with my improv class. I’m happy to say I checked off one of my resolutions which was to perform on stage at least once in 2015.
I forgot how much I love performing. I’ve really enjoyed taking class for the past 8 weeks and highly recommend improv courses at The PIT. I looked forward to Tuesday nights and always left class in the best mood. If you’re thinking about taking an improv class you totally should, it’s a fun way to let off some steam from the work day and guaranteed to at the very least make you laugh.
Today ended up being the hottest day ever and perfect weather for my first trapeze class of the season!
I’m also now sporting my inaugural first sunburn of 2015 #PalePeopleProblems.
I was practically skipping on my way to the rig I was SO dang excited. Once I was up on the board about to take my first turn though I had a moment of “oh crap, I hope I remember how to do this”. I do… muscle memory is magical like that. A lot of people in the class were in the same boat as much, brushing off the cobwebs on their old tricks.
There’s something about being there, covered in chalk that fills me with both happiness and a sense of relaxation. I’m fully aware that jumping off a 25 foot platform is not relaxation for most, but somehow trapeze makes me feel zen.
Backend gazelle catch. Not too shabby for my first catch in 6 months.
While I love warm weather for a million different reasons, the fact that summer = trapeze season is easily the #1 reason I love summer.
And now… I’m pretty beat from the weekend which probably isn’t a shocker 🙂
What adventures were you up to this weekend?
What’s your favorite part about summer + warmer weather
