I came back from Cancun to find that it was equally hot and sticky here. Lovely.
Summer in NYC can be brutal between the heat and the stifling humidity– yet I love summer here so much. Forget Christmas, this is my idea of the most wonderful time of the year. The city is chock full of free summer events plus my neighborhood is just a tad bit quieter sans NYU students and the people who head “out east”. I can throw on a tank top, jean shorts, birkenstocks and call it an outfit. The Van Leeuwan ice cream truck is always conveniently parked outside my apartment just when I’m craving a cup of vegan pistachio ice cream.
Seriously, I love summer in NYC.
This outfit from Marika is perfect for hot steamy workouts this summer. I typically don’t wear flow-y tops but liked that this one while loose, was still flattering and kept things cool on a toasty day. Matching bra optional 🙂
The crops are surprisingly light. Minus running, I still wear workout crops throughout the summer, it’s what I prefer to workout in for comfort. On a really hot day though it can be rough to pull on a pair of thick, black workout crops and walk to my workout. I liked that although these crops are on the lighter side, they aren’t in any way sheer. Bonus that they match my manicure perfectly.

You definitely have to go for a run either in Central Park or on the West Side Highway!
