I’ve noticed a theme surrounding a number of bloggers during the summer months: we’re all trying to soak it in + enjoy.
I’ve been quiet[er].
Partially because at work we moved into our office and I’m no longer working from home.
Partially because I’ve been in this strange funk I can’t quite describe.
Partially because my fitness life has become boring and repetitive because of marathon training.
Partially because I’ve been trying to crawl into bed as early as possible.
Partially because I’ve been somewhat busy after work most nights.
And partially because I want to spend every free second soaking summer in. I feel this pressure to enjoy every second of it before it gets bitter cold again in New York.
I know I’m not alone in admitting that I feel this pang guilt when I don’t blog. A part of me does freak out about page views plummeting, no longer getting invited to fun activities and events or losing out on blogging opportunities.
It’s sadly nearing the end of summer, though. For now I’m just going to continue to soak it all in which to me means spending as much time as humanly possible outside whether it’s in the form of running, outdoor yoga, long aimless walks, reading in the park or BBQs. Going to bed early if that’s what my body needs. Consuming all the vegan ice cream. Being shamelessly selfish and taking care of myself above everything.
Simply soaking it all in.
