Guys, this post is going up way later than I intended. Oops. These round-ups are always more time consuming than I think but I love writing them!
I swear every month flies by and I feel like I was just writing about my favorites from the previous month. Even though I’m still the only blogger in the world that hates fall (yup) September wasn’t so bad… especially with the mild temperature.
Fashion I’m Loving
this Onzie crop top
I now own it in three colors. Yup, I’m kind of obsessed. The top has a built in bra which is supportive enough for me, looks relatively classy AND is super comfy because it’s technically a workout top / bathing suit. So now I can say I wore a bathing suit to a swanky NYC bar. I shamelessly wore the above outfit as many times as I could in September because I loooooved it so much.
Herschel Pop Quiz Backpack
I’ve been using the same “fashion statement” Coach backpack to carry my laptop to work/school or while I’m traveling since college. I freaken love that bag but it wasn’t built to carry my big ole macbook for all these years and the strap was starting to break… and hurt my shoulders.
The Pop Quiz Backpack from Herschel is so awesome (this one is actually from Apple, MINT GREEN!). There’s a padded sleeve for my laptop, additional room for notebooks (or some workout clothes which is usually the case for me) and a ton of little pockets to hold other things.
I still live down the street from NYU so everyone probably think I’m 18 years old when I’m walking around in yoga pants with my backpack. Nope, I’m 25 and walking to work. #foreveryoung
These amazing Nikes
I really wanted a pair of sneakers that were the epitome of athleisure. Since I wear yoga pants to work 90% of the time, I also wanted my kicks to be perfect for black yoga pants.
Behold, the Nike Air Pegasus 83. Swoooooon. Never in a million years did I think I would wear sneakers as a fashion statement. New York, you’ve certainly changed!
What I’m Listening to…
Podcasts
During my shorter weekday runs I’ve been listening to podcasts to switch it up. I’m absolutely obsessed with Starr Struck Radio, a podcast from blogger / yoga instructor and artist Mary Catherine and her husband Ben focused on “living a creative, inspired and purposeful life”. They talk about a bunch of topics in the wellness world from guys doing yoga to morning routines. Mary Catherine and Ben often times having opposing views or different backgrounds on the topic so it’s always interesting to hear both of their take on everything.
It will be really bittersweet when I’m done with marathon training because I won’t be listening to podcasts very often.
What I’m Watching
America’s Next Top Model
Insane guilty pleasure. In high school I used to always watch the latest episode on Wednesday night while I was eating dinner after my Wednesday night dance class. I admit, the show is mind numbingly dumb at times, but that’s why I like it!
I accidentally tuned into this season’s premiere while I was making dinner one Wednesday and have been totally sucked into this seasons drama. I truthfully look forward to watching the most recent episode on DVR while cooking dinner on Wednesdays after trapeze.
Anyone else watching this season? Seriously, I need someone to talk about it with!
Parks and Recreation
Jeremy and I have been slowly making our way through Parks and Rec on Netflix and finished it last week. It’s SO good. Both of us absolutely love this show and are a little bit depressed now that it’s over for us. I’ll warn you, the first season is a bit eh, but once they figure out the humor it’s down right incredible.
We’re looking for new sitcom to watch together on Netflix or Amazon Prime. We’ve already watched every episode of How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs and 30 Rock. I’m leaning towards Arrested Development which I’ve already watched all of but he hasn’t watched any of.
Highlights from the month
Spending most weekends outside
I’m actually not an outdoorsy person, there’s a reason I’ve lived in New York City for 7+ years. When the weather is gorgeous though I want to soak up the sunshine and spend all day outside. Anytime it was remotely warm and sunny out, Jeremy and I spent the day in Washington Square Park reading… which is perfect because my legs were usually in pain after a long run.
Looking forward to…
SAN FRANCISCO + the Nike Women’s Half
I am bursting with excitement to visit San Francisco for the first time! It’s kind of crazy that I’ve never been to northern California, just Los Angeles a bunch of times (and y’know living there after college). There’s SO much I want to do while I’m there and I have no idea how I’m going to fit it all in. If you have an recommendations of restaurants I would love, let me know!
THE MARATHON!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay… this one technically falls in November but I knowing me I probably won’t write my recap until like mid-November, long after the marathon. I have a feeling it’s going to be both the best day of my life and more challenging all wrapped up into one. Just thinking about this race gets me weepy, I can’t even imagine what I’ll be like on race day.
Tell me about your September (or I guess the beginning of October…) What have you been loving?

That crop top looks so cute! I love clothes that are comfy but look nice, and usually buy multiples when I find them too.
