Hi guys! Taking a brief pause from all my LA related content to share with you an awesome product plus an awesome, no equipment needed workout.
It’s been awhile since I’ve worked out in a gym on my own, but when I do I absolutely HAVE to listen to music or podcasts, whether I’m lifting weights or doing cardio of sort. I’m totally guilty of awkwardly shoving my iPhone in the waistband of my workout pants (or bra…) so I’m not choked by the headphone wires. As you can imagine, this method doesn’t work too well when I’m doing things like burpees.
I’ve tried arm bands in the past but find it hard to find ones that fit my arms and the velcro isn’t annoying. I was super excited when SlimClip reached out to me to let me know about their new iPhone case for working out.
As the name suggests it’s super slim and easily clips onto your iPhone so you can then hook it onto your waistband for a hands free workout. I’m happy to report it stayed in place during my test workout… even when I was doing burpees.
I love that it absorbs shock like a typical iPhone case if you do happen to drop your phone, which I did during my first half marathon. The case is similar in size to a typical iPhone case so you can keep it in the SlimClip all day and it’s not bulky.
Pro-tip- be sure to hook it more towards the side of your hip instead of the front of your waist. Whenever I raised my knee, my quad had a tendency to knock against the case when it was clipped to the front, but positioning it to the side totally fixed that!
I was totally impressed with the product and think it’s a great iPhone case for working out, much better than the irritating armbands I’ve previously used.
As I mentioned I’m always listening to something when I’m working out on my own. The below no-equipment needed workout is created around the song “When Can I See You Again” so you don’t have to worry about using a stop watch for time or counting reps. It’s a quick yet challenging cardio blast, perfect for in between strength sets.
Side note, I became OBSESSED with this song after going to Disneyland. It’s currently being used as a major part of the Electric Parade. I didn’t realize it’s from Wreck it Ralph! Try out the workout and let me know what you think.
This post was sponsored by SlimClip. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting Kayla in the City.

I love that you can have your phone upside down in the phone case so that the headphone jack is facing up! Great idea. I’ve never been a fan of the arm straps for your phone so this is a great option!
