I’m am really excited to share this month’s goals with you because I’m recruiting YOU to join me for some free early morning yoga classes in NYC. All the details on how to join me below!
Revisiting August’s Goals
Focus on santosha: contentment.
While I’m still inevitably sad that summer ended (or I guess is ending because it’s still gorgeous out) I did my best to enjoy August and make the most of it.
One super helpful thing I did was take a staycation here in NYC. I also made a point to walk 5+ miles every day. I know come winter I won’t be so willing to aimlessly walk around the city, so gotta enjoy it while I can!
Conquer my “before grad school” to-do list.
Yes… and no. I did do all the important things– I finished my observation hours for my Yoga Teacher Training (!!!) and updated my blog media kit to match my gorgeous new website. Since I’m not quite sure yet what’s happening for me on the fitness instructing front, I’m still waiting out renewing my personal training certification and some of the other things on my to-do list.
Learn to enjoy my free time.
Success! I’m happy to report that I was able to just sit back and relax when possible this past month.
August ended up being a great mix of relaxation (hello, vacation in LA!) and productivity. All in all I ended up learning to enjoy this bizarre free time I ended up having this month. As excited as I am to be back in school, I think I got a bit too used to being lazy this summer.
I hope I remember how to stay motivated when it comes to studying and getting schtuff done!
September’s Goals
Start grad school off strong
As excited as I am to be back in school, it’s also a bit anxiety inducing. I don’t think I’ve fully processed how much things are going to change now that I’m back in school.
My goal is to start grad school off strong, which to me means staying on top of my shit, getting organized now instead of later in the semester and making school a priority.
It should probably go without saying that school is a priority, but I’m worried life and other fun stuff is going to get in the way. None of my close friends are in school right now and it’s really hard to say I can’t, I have to study.
I know this month is going to be all about transition and learning to juggle school, fitness, blogging, freelance projects, my social life and being a halfway decent girlfriend. As much fun as some of the other stuff can be, it’s all about grad school for now and starting off strong.
But with that being said, also prioritize my own wellness.
Even though grad school is my #1 priority, I’m obviously still going to be super focused on working out and y’know drinking kale smoothies. As I learned as an undergrad student, taking an hour out of the day, even when things are crazy, to focus on my own well-being makes a HUGE difference in my productivity and happiness.
I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be partnering with YG Studios this month for some early morning yoga classes with the incredible Alexa Ibarra. On September 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29th you’re invited to join me at 7:30AM for an energizing vinyasa yoga class led by Alexa. The idea is that we’ll BOTH keep each other accountability — I won’t flake out on you if you won’t flake out on me 🙂
The best part? Your first class is FREE.
Sign up for those yoga classes here and let me know you’re coming! Seriously, don’t leave me hanging. I haven’t woken up at 6:30AM in a long time!
YOUR TURN: What are your goals for September? Besides coming to 7:30AM yoga with me of course 🙂
