Warming up before working out is mad important. But let’s be honest, most of us skim over the warm-up to get to the meaty part of a work out. Am I right?
Yoga is no exception. Warming up before delving in a full-fledged flow is important. Not only does it get your body ready to move, but it also helps get your head in the game and connects you with your breath. A warm up both in yoga and during a work out should prepare you for what’s ahead but in a modified, toned down way.
This yoga warm-up is super simple and pretty generic. It’s not designed with any particular sequence in mind. If you’re delving into a sequence that involves a lot of twists, you might want to incorporate them into the warm up as well.
If you’re new to yoga and looking to review basic postures (whatup, down dog!) don’t forget to check out this post as well!
5-Min Yoga Warm-Up
Now you’re ready to flow 🙂 After warming up I do 2-3 rounds of Sun Salutation-A followed by 2-3 rounds of Sun Salutation-B. Check out those links for videos you can follow along to as well!
