Guys, I am SO excited for today’s post because it combines some of my favorite things: yoga + caffeine 🙂
I have a super fun, energizing yoga sequence for ya, designed to perk you up in 5-minutes. It might also make you sweat in that amount of time, so apologies in advanced 💦
It’s no secret that I’m a caffeine addict. Like, I will get a super painful headache if I don’t get caffeine in my system, kind of addict. It’s bad.
I’ve been curious about bulletproof coffee for some time now, having heard people sing it’s praises, but have avoided it for a few reasons…
1️⃣ Most of the options I see out there involve butter which is no bueno for this lactose intolerant gal.
2️⃣ Bulletproof coffee can be a total calorie bomb.
3️⃣ And maybe most embarrassingly… I don’t know how to make coffee and rely on Starbucks for my caffeine fix.
But, I so wanted to reap the benefits of bulletproof coffee — the added fat is digested slower and therefore releases caffeine slower giving you less of a jolt.
Enter Metabrew, the first bottled, vegan bulletproof coffee I’ve come across and I’m super excited to partner with them on this post. I’m a firm believer in both caffeinating and working out as the best way to jump start your day.
I was impressed that in addition to being vegan and paleo-friendly, Metabrew is also low in sugar at less than 1 gram! Plus it’s also lower in calories than my usual Starbucks drink of choice coming in at 120 calories per bottle.
I’m not a black coffee drinker and personally prefer sugared out lattes, chai and matcha to get my fix (terrible, I know), but I found this coffee to be light enough that even I could handle it. I especially like it poured over ice, but then again I love me some iced lattes.
Metabrew currently delivers to select areas (you can check that out here). If you order online, before sure to use code KAYLA30 for 30% off both 6-packs and 12-packs.
Now that we’re well caffeinated ☕️ let’s do some yoga. This is my first time sharing an “original” flow and I’m both excited and really nervous to share it with ya. I’ve been teaching a variation of this over the last week during Holistic Happening events and I’m kind of obsessed.
Hope it perks you up and let me know what you think!
5-Minute Energizing Yoga Flow
Notes about the flow: I recommend pairing this video with a warm-up and round of Sun Salutation A. I struggle with shoulder mobility issues thanks to a previous injury, as is apparent in certain poses.
If taking a full vinyasa is ever too much, just lowering your knees-chest-chin followed by a low cobra is a great variation.
Happy Flowing!
Your turn: Have you tried bulletproof coffee before?
This post was sponsored by Metabrew. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting Kayla in the City.

I’m going to try this as a morning wake up flow! Also I need to try this coffee. I’m very into making my own frothy (& fatty lol) bulletproof coffee but sometimes I don’t have the time, this would be a great replacement on busy mornings. I really think bulletproof gives me more energy and a clear head as compared with regular coffee.
