One of the most common questions I get asked as a blogger is how do you grow your blog? For me, Google is the number one way people find this blog. SEO has been a HUGE part of my blog strategy.
While I’ve learned some about SEO over the years, it’s not my specialty by any means. So, I’m excited to have this guest post from Danielle Zeigler, an SEO maven I totally look up to. Not only is she an SEO whiz, but she’s also a total girl boss.
Today I’m picking her brain for some tips on how to grow your blog with SEO. Let’s do this!

I’m Danielle, a business coach and digital marketing strategist. My mission is to help female entrepreneurs harness their strengths, personality, and energy to easily + authentically market their work to exactly the people who need it.
I specialize in SEO and blogging as ways to attract clients TO you. I’m extremely introverted, so I’m allll about the inbound marketing! I’m also a certified holistic health coach (though not practicing), so I understand how much wellness can play a part in a successful business.

5 Easy Ways to Grow Your Blog Audience
Are you putting great content into the world…but it’s getting lost in cyberspace? It can feel super frustrating to work hard, write helpful posts, and feel like you’re shouting into a void.
Access to creating an online business is easier than ever. You can employ resources such as dropshipping services for your business and learn how to make money dropshipping by just going through a few articles. This provides you leverage in getting more customers due to an uninterrupted fast delivery facility.
However, with that ease comes the struggle of getting noticed by the right people. These days, it can feel like the only way to reach people is by spending money on Facebook ads or working around the clock to “hustle” your way to the top. Yes, you can do that along with utilising other marketing tools such as SEO, online marketing, promotional ads, etc. You can do these things by yourself or take the assistance of a digital marketing company similar to https://www.freniklabs.com/.
Here’s a quick way to solve that problem: Search Engine Optimization.
You spend a ton of time and energy making your website look amazing and deliver great content-so why shouldn’t you help people find it?
Here’s the thing: your ideal audience is already searching. Help them find your solutions.
Your website should be your hardest working sales tool, available 24/7 to help explain who you are and what you do. Imagine how it would feel to write helpful content and know it’s being read by the right people.
Give “the hustle” a break, and let your blog do more work. And, if you do not have enough resources or knowledge to proceed further, simply consider working with an SEO coach. They can guide you better.
Here are 5 of my favorite tips to improve your SEO and grow your blog audience (without spending a dime):
1️⃣ Guest post on the blogs of others.
It may seem counterintuitive for the first step to growing your own blog to involve growing someone else’s. But by guest posting on someone else’s blog, you can link back to your own-and more links leading to your site can mean a higher Google ranking.
Not only does it show Google that other bloggers find your content helpful, but guest posts will also introduce you to new audiences. It’s not a one-way street! It helps that blogger expand on a topic they might not specialize in (but know their audience wants to hear about) and gives them a break in creating brand new content.
2️⃣ Narrow your focus.
Try narrowing your field of vision-for instance, the idea of “How To Hire A Wellness Coach” vs. “How To Hire A Wellness Coach After Having A Baby.” Have you heard the phrase aim small, miss small? The narrower your focus, the closer you’ll get to it, meaning that the more specific clients you aim your posts toward, the more certain you can be it will reach them. Stop trying to be for everyone and instead focus on being for a particular group of clientele. In addition to that, you may also want to run those google ads to promote your blogs in the search results. Website managers tend to use unique keywords to rank their sites higher, you can also hire an AdWord professional (a related blog has been linked here) who can help you in the marketing of your content, which might increase your website traffic.
3️⃣ Keep a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
You can turn these FAQs into content for a landing page or individual blog posts. Use the same language as your audience to create answers to questions they’re already Googling. The goal of SEO is to connect with readers who are already searching for solutions like yours, so typing up a list of FAQs will work wonders in attracting readers. Plus, you’ll always have a list of inspiration for new blog posts!
4️⃣ Take a few extra minutes to fill in your metadata.
You know when you post a link to your site and it has a few words under the title? That preview text is pulled from your meta description. This text may also appear in search engine results, enticing someone to click on your link.
The “meta data” of your blog post are items like the title tag, meta description, and alt tag. Spend a few extra minutes filling in these areas for each post. Yoast offers an easy-to-use plugin to help you identify where your SEO is lacking.
Make sure the title tag, meta description, and alt tags are all unique and on-topic for each page of your site and each blog post. The title tag for your homepage should be something that describes who your site is for and what you offer, like, Workouts and Healthy Recipes for Busy 20-Something Women.
5️⃣ Don’t let your affiliate links drag you down.
Does your blog give you a bit of income by using affiliate links? Make sure the links have a nofollow tag. Google punishes sites that use too many affiliate links, and attaching a nofollow tag will “hide” the link from search engines. Use the plugin Pretty Link Lite as an easy way to make an affiliate link “nofollow.” You’ll find a checkbox within the settings when you create a new affiliate link.
