My not so favorite thing: Case studies for grad school. BLECH. Apologies for the radio silence last week but I’m back, baby! Let’s look at what went down in February, shall we?
Favorite Things From February
Workout I’m Loving…
Orange Theory Fitness – Park Slope.
It’s been a hot second since I’ve done ANY sort of running. So, I was a bit terrified to go to Orange Theory Fitness in Park Slope with a bunch of friends I met thanks to blogging — Evann, Ashley, Theodora, Meaghan, Heather and another Ashley 🙂 When I found out we’d be spending 30 minutes straight on the treadmill, I was even more terrified.
I survived… and even thought the running portion went by fast thanks to the constantly changing intervals and rolling hills we were simulating. The first 10 or so minutes felt like downright torture but then the next thing I knew we were heading into our last sprint.
The strength portion was a bit more in my comfort zone.
My favorite part was being surrounded by the above crew, they kept me laughing and entertained every step of the way.

Afterwards we grabbed breakfast and I had the greatest breakfast sandwich EVER at Healthy Nibbles nearby the studio.
Egg, tempeh, dairy-free cheese, spicy vegan mayo on multigrain bread. I was in dairy-free HEAVEN.
What I Read…
Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Holy moly did I love this book. It’s not a “deep” book by any means, but was fast paced, addicting and would be the perfect summer beach read.
The premise reminds me of the musical If/Then — what would happens if you made a different decision during a seemingly unimportant moment in your life? Maybe in Another Life follows as Hannah lives out the effects of each decision as she decides whether or not she should leave a party early with her friend or stay and reconnect with her ex-boyfriend.
Like I said, it’s not a deep book but after a long day I loved curling up with this book as a way to unwind.
After finishing this book last week I immediately looked all the other books this author wrote and am now reading another one of her novels.
What I’m Watching…
Modern Family.
Guys, I’m super late to the party on this one. I started watching Modern Family on DVD a few years ago — it’s one of my mom + brother’s favorite shows these days. I stopped watching when I ran out of DVDs my brother owned and never got back into it.
Jeremy and I were trying to figure out our next sitcom to watch together and landed on Modern Family. I forgot how much I LOVE this show and all the bizarre, ridiculous characters.
Unfortunately it’s not on any of the streaming services, to my knowledge, but we’ve been finding the DVDs for relatively cheap at Barnes and Noble.
Girls.
My favorite TV show is back! I’m feeling pretty emotional about the fact that it’s the last season of Girls. I know people have very strong opinions about this show — either you love it or hate it — but it’s been a favorite of mine ever since my BFF David introduced me to it and we watched a sneak-preview of the first three episodes.
ALL the reality TV shows.
People are surprised to find out I’m OBSESSED with certainly reality TV shows. They’ve always been one of my favorite mindless ways to decompress when things are mucho stressful.
This season of America’s Next Top Model is coming to a close. It’s been SO good — like back to basics, juicy, all out bitchiness in the house. I love it and have my fingers crossed my favorite girl wins.
The latest season of Project Runway: Juniors finished and I have mixed feelings about the winner. It was my first time watching anything from the Project Runway franchise and I’m officially hooked.
And I also DVRed old episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race because they were airing episodes every week from a season I haven’t watched with pop-up video-like commentary. I’m SO excited for the new season to start soon.
There you have it, I watch A LOT of reality TV…
Other highlights…
Valentine’s Day at Strip House.
Jeremy and I don’t make a huge deal out of Valentine’s Day BUT when I saw one of our favorite restaurants Strip House still had reservations open for the holiday, I jumped on that shit SO fast.
We only get to go to Strip House on special occasions because it’s a bit on the expensive side for us, but it’s always so freaking good when we do go. Jeremy is obsessed with their steak and I love all their fish dishes, so it’s the perfect match for both of us.
The unseasonably warm weather.
How magical were those super warm days in NYC? I did my best to take full advantage — gimme all the iced lattes and cute dresses! Also, I might’ve procrastinated my homework BIG TIME in favor of reading in Washington Square Park for a few hours #NoRegrets.

I’m getting REAL emotional about girls ending.
And gotta love that it was warmer in NYC last week than LA was during my trip there in January. Bizarre winter all around.
