After a relatively relaxing weekend, it’s back to craziness today. Jeremy and I spent the weekend being REAL lazy. He just finished his second week of student teaching and we were both exhausted. We went to the movies, ate ramen and Indian food, sat in Washington Square Park… and that’s about it.
Yesterday Leslie and I also had fun quick Holistic Happening event at Athleta – Flatiron.
I taught a mini 30 minute yoga class and Leslie lead everyone through a brief meditation. I love getting to do these free events — We’ll be do another one at Paragon in October! [Info here]
And today.. I’m all over the place. Anyone else having one of those Mondays? I taught Yoga Sculpt this morning and then went to visit an apartment [the quest continues]. Now I’m off to the dermatologist before school tonight.
I get asked a lot of questions about my favorite yoga mat, go-to yoga pants, etc. I thought it would be fun to do a little round-up. Plus I love hearing other people’s favorite yoga pants, mats, etc. Let me know your favorite in the comments!
My Favorite Yoga Products
1. Jade Yoga Mat.
I’ve had this Jade yoga mat for 5 or so years and it’s the best. For starters, it’s survived yoga teacher training and still looks pretty good. This mat also gives you the right amount of grip and I have less issues with slipping in downward facing dog.
2. Manduka Yoga Bag.
I’m obsessed with this mat carrier from Manduka. It has enough pockets and pouches to be your gym bag — but with a lot less heft. I love that I can throw my water bottle, towel and mat in here.
3. High-Waisted Lululemon.
I tend to stick to Lululemon when it comes to yoga clothes [instructor discount, I love you!]. I know, I know, totally basic. But those pants LAST. I have ones from college that are still looking good.
I prefer high-waisted pants and crops when I’m practicing and teaching yoga. When I’m taking class I prefer to be in a sport bra and I like the extra coverage high-waisted pants give ya. These days I’m obsessed with their new In-Movement leggings as well as the High Times legging.
4. Lavender Essential Oils – doTerra.
I use this essential oil from doTerra during savasana and it’s SO good. At night I’ve started rubbing it on my wrists to as a way to unwind and relax.
5. Energy Bra- Lululemon.
I have the Energy Bra in a few colors and it’s my go-to sports bra — both for yoga and other activities. The strap design gives you a solid range of motion (always important in a yoga class) and the “girls” are well covered.
