Helloooo, Friday!
Every week I fall into the same pattern. Monday and Tuesday feel like the longest days EVER and I also feel like there’s no way in hell I can finish everything I need to do.
Then Wednesday and Thursday I get a breath of fresh air. By Friday I’m feeling relaxed and caught up on everything. Lather, rinse and repeat.
Here are some of my favorite things from the past week. I’d love to hear what you’ve been loving too in the comments.
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS // VOL. #2
Foods I’m Loving
Vegan pizza from &pizza
I had never heard of this D.C. based pizza chain before, but a new one just opened up by me on Broadway and Astor Place. They have vegan cheese options so obviously this lactose intolerant gal had to try.
I got the artisanal grain pizza with traditional tomato sauce, vegan cheese, mushrooms, spicy chickpeas and a fried egg 🙂 with basil added at the end. Lemme tell you, it was GOOD. So good I’ve thought about going back for more all week…
Salmon Teriyaki at Glaze
The Glaze on 4th Avenue and 13th Street has become a go-to lunch spot for me. First starters it’s freaking fast. I swear they have my order ready for me before I’m even done ordering. But it’s also really, really good.
I’m OBSESSED with the salmon over brown rice. And get the sesame dressing for the side salad.
Workouts I’m Loving
Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake Theme Ride at CYC Fitness with Tom
I’m not usually one for theme rides, but a Britney/ JT ride sounded too good to pass up. Uh, it was awesome. Tom played SO many of the Britney classics. I don’t remember the last time I heard Slave 4 U or Lucky. I left the class in the best mood ever and thinking I should really go to theme rides more often…
Body Camp 2.0: Lift at Body Space Fitness
I’ve always loved Body Space Fitness, but with their recent schedule change I really love it. They recently introduced a new class Lift that’s focused on, well, lifting heavy things. The class is compromised of 2 big circuits with 5 strength focused exercises. You repeat those five exercises once and then start the second circuit.
Cardio is not my jam. I’ll take lifting up heavy things over rowing ANY day. Knowing that there’s going to be minimal cardio in class gets me SO excited.
What I’m Reading
Kristine, friend of mine from the blogging world, wrote an awesome article on when too healthy isn’t healthy. Oh man, she so hits the nail on the head with so many things I’ve been thinking about when it comes to healthy living.
Roseanne is my favorite TV show of all time (I wish I was kidding) and I’m BEYOND pumped for the revival this winter. This article doesn’t give away a ton, but it was enough to make me weepy and get me excited for winter.
What I’m Watching
On Thursday night I went to see Waitress on Broadway… which I’ve already seen 4 other times. I’m trying to remember, but I don’t think I’ve seen a show since I went to Hamilton in LA. Considering I used to go to theater weekly (and see 6 or so student productions every weekend in college) that’s a long stretch for me.
Waitress has some how become one of my favorite shows currently on Broadway. I can’t even explain it, but I simply love it. I wanted to see Betsey Wolfe take on the lead role as Jenna. Aaaand I wanted to see one Drew Gehling play Dr. Pomatter one more time before Jason Mraz takes over.
And Some Simple Joys
My coconut oil is no longer liquid-y
Is there anything worse than coconut oil that’s liquid before you even cook it? I swear it messes with my sautéing skills. OR maybe I just suck that much at cooking.
I haven’t had AC in my living room / kitchen area since the beginning of September which has left my coconut oil even more liquid-y than usual. This week’s blast of COOL weather has solidified my coconut oil. Guys, sometimes it’s the little things that get you REAL pumped.
Celebrating my brother’s 30th birthday
Over the weekend my parents threw my brother a birthday party at a bowling alley in Westchester. It’s kind of funny that we celebrated his birthday the same way you would a 5 year olds. Except this time it included far more alcohol. I SUCK at bowling, so much so that I ended up using bumpers (no shame) but still had a lot of fun bowling with my cousins and Jeremy.

we don’t have an &pizza here but i’ve heard it’s amazing!!! we have a lot of other build-your-own places, but they don’t have the egg on top…aka the BEST topping ever. my coconut oil is still semi-liquidy but i’m looking veryyyyy forward to when it’s not – i love how that’s an indicator of the temperature…haha
have a great weekend love!

I was SO excited about the egg. And the fact that it didn’t cost me extra!
