Hello, Friday! Hope you all had a good week. As expected spring break went by a little too fast for my liking. But I’m grateful that I was able to have some downtime. And let’s be honest I was grateful to get to sleep-in. Yesterday was the first day in years I didn’t set an alarm. Freaking glorious.
Here are some things I’m loving this week:
These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things // Vol. 10
▶︎ Conscious Coconut coconut oil. I’ve been a long time believer that coconut oil is the answer to just about everything. Conscious Coconut confirms this belief.
Their coconut oil tube is super convenient and will be great for future travels. When using coconut oil for beauty reasons it’s honestly much easier to squeeze out of a tube than scoop some out of a jar. It’s been great as eye make-up remover — gets ALL the mascara off while also leaving my skin super soft. And I’ve been using it as moisturizer as well. Coconut oil, you da best.

▶︎ I mentioned last week that I’ve been on the hunt for cute business attire for my grad school trip to Europe in May. Prior to this month I owned zero pairs of slacks but like 40 pairs of yoga pants. Because I’m pretty petite I struggle with feeling like a kid playing dress-up in fancy pants and blazers.
After much searching I *think* I have enough outfits to mix-and-match for my 10-day trip. And I’m actually pretty excited to rock these cute chic outfits.
I ended up doing a big shopping spree at J.Crew. I love me some J.Crew for every day wear but didn’t know if I wanted to spend that kind of money on outfits I might not wear again.
It ended up being a gooood call because one, they were having a sale. And two, I got to work with a stylist who put up with my ridiculousness. Audra at the Flatiron store was freaking amazing at helping me find outfits that would work for this trip but that I can also “dress down” in my “regular life.” And because I genuinely love everything I found, I’ll actually want to wear these pieces again.
I wanted to avoid clothes that would require me to wear heels — I ain’t wearing heels while walking around Europe. I’m also not a fan of anything long sleeves. Guys, I’m a sweaty person and usually am warm.
So here’s what I found:
• the Cameron slim crop pant in black + grey (I’m 5’2″ and the petite ended up being PERFECT)
• this simple simple v-neck camisole in white + pink (will definitely wear these with jeans too!)
• another black romper (I’m already bringing two on this trip 🙈) I CANNOT wait to wear this one with white sneaks this spring. Short friends — I ended up getting these hemmed.
• and this blazer. How freaking cute is the pink color?!?
On the shoe front like I said I’ve been adamant that I ain’t wearing heels. But I also haven’t been able to find comfy flats. I went into the Kenneth Cole store on Bowery on a whim (okay, it was because all their cute sneaks drew me in!) and found these insanely comfy mules. I’m not 100% sold on the black-less mule but they are SO comfy. I wore them out last night and have zero complaints. Which is pretty rare for brand new shoes.
Aaaand I’m officially cut-off from spending money on clothes for the year 2018.

▶︎ After seeing Beautiful on Broadway Tuesday night I’ve been on a total Carol King binge. My New York, Jewish mother is so freaking proud. And I’m officially 27 going on 67…
✨
▶︎ Also on the theater front I saw the Spongebob Musical. I’m not a huge fan of the TV show, I think I was a bit too old for it when it came out and it always creeped me out.
The show, however, was shockingly good. The design alone was worth it to me — it’s INSANE and so inventive. And the cast is all-around fantastic, especially Ethan Slater as Spongebob as well as Gavin Lee as Squidward.
FYI — I got both the Beautiful and Spongebob tickets for less than $50 each on TDF. I lucked out with seats and ended up in the orchestra and pretty centered both times. If you’re a student or work in education TDF is the BEST.

▶︎ Have you heard about FitHouse? It’s a new studio that offers unlimited fitness classes for $99/month. On Monday I went to their first location on Bowery for a SculptBarre class. For $99/month is definitely worth checking out and cheaper than other boutique fitness studios out there. It seems like they are also doing rapid expansion with plans to open 5 more Manhattan studios soon.
Will do a full review soon when I get to try out their other class formats!

▶︎ This perfume from Urban Outfitters has become my all time favorite. Whether or not it does inspire creativity is obviously debatable. But hey it makes me smell great, I’ll take it.
✨
▶︎ I’ve been making ALL the pancakes this week. Nothing screams spring break like brunch on a Tuesday, right? I think I’ve mentioned them here before but I LOVE the paleo pancake mix from Birch Benders. I’m def not paleo, but I like that they’re dairy free and shelf stable. All you gotta do is add water and BAM you got pancakes ready to be cooked.
My pancake flipping skillz could use some work, though…
✨
▶︎ On Saturday I went to new yoga studio Just Like Om in Chelsea to take a class with Shanna (her episode on the WELL-rounded podcast is one of my favorites so far. Freaking love this girl).
The space is so cute and a tiny piece of calm in the middle of Manhattan. And Shanna was so fantastic, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to finally take her class.

▶︎ The Being Boss podcast has always been a favorite of mine. This week they launched a spin-off podcast Making a Business and it’s excellent. This new podcast follows the launch of a new company, Almanac Supply Co. and all the in’s and out’s of launching a brand new business. SO excited for more episodes.
