Hiiiii from Costa Rica! After a long day of travel I’m happy to be settling in in San Jose before heading to Dominical with The Weekend Sabbatical.
I know a big part of traveling is getting away from your normal schedule and routine. With that being said I did want to bring a few “comforts” from home and things that would make the whole travel experience a bit less stressful.
Saje Clean Hands Cleansing Lotion.
Anyone else obsessively use hand lotion while flying?
I was excited to find this lotion from Saje that’s also a gentle cleanser. Win win for this germaphobe plus the scent is yummy. Will definitely be bringing this on all my future flights!

Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee.
I’m not 100% sure what the caffeine situation will be for the remainder of my trip so I wanted to come armed with options since I don’t like black coffee. I’ve heard great things about this mushroom coffee from Four Sigmatic and it comes in a super convenient-for-travel individually wrapped pouch. Fingers crossed I like it!

Single-Serve Matcha from U-Matcha.
I spent A LOT of time in the coffee + tea aisle at Whole Foods trying to figure out what I was going to do about the above caffeine debacle. I’m a total creature of habit and like my Starbucks chais and vanilla lattes. Option number two if I end up hating the mushroom coffee is some matcha. It sounds promising and I thought these travel packets were smart.

Saje invigorating Face & Body Mist in Brainstorm
Another amazing find from Saje. After a 10 hour travel day I felt pretty grimy on the last leg of my journey. A quick spritz of this on my face and I felt better thanks to the zesty scent and cool mist. And at the very least I smelled MUCH better.
Also, I totes wish I had this when I was in grad school hell. It’s supposed to help you stay awake and alert while studying.

Luna Bar
I eat a Luna Bar for breakfast every single day. It sits well in my stomach if I’m teaching or working out first thing in the morning and keeps me pretty full until my next meal.
I’m such a creature of habit and always bring a stash of Luna Bars when I’m traveling. I’ll typically have one as a part of breakfast and will keep a few in my bag in case I get hangry on the go.
My flavor of choice will always be white chocolate macadamia. It’s the best.
Saje Stress Release Soothing Oil Blend
I swear this post isn’t sponsored by Saje or anything. They just make such perfect travel products.
I loooooved using this roll-on oil blend during my flights down here. The roll on makes it super easy to use — just a quick swipe on my inner wrists and temples. I don’t know if it truly helps to release stress. What I do know is I associate lavender with a sense of calm (thanks, yoga class!) so I figured it didn’t hurt to try it. I will say, I was pretty chill during the flight which is not alway the case for me when it comes to flying.

Nutpods Dairy-Free Creamer + Almond Milk
Dairy doesn’t mix well with my belly. I’d say I’m about 95% dairy-free when I’m home, minus eating Indian food once a week and the occasional bite of pizza. Traveling I try to stick to dairy-free as it’s not the time to find out how much dairy my belly can handle. I decided to bring some travel sized non-dairy milk options to mix with coffee, matcha or espresso — whatever ends up being available where I’m staying here.
I’ve only been at the hotel a few hours but my almond milk has already come in handy mixed with espresso. I feel like a total weirdo traveling with my own dairy-free milks, but so it goes.
Justin’s Almond Butter – travel sized.
I’ve been traveling with my own travel-sized nut butters for awhile now. When in doubt, I know I can schmear it on a bagel or toast and call it a meal or it makes a great snack with a banana.
