Reading has always been my favorite way to unwind at the end of the day — you can thank my librarian mama for that habit. I’m always reading something. Lately it’s been a lot of fiction but I also go through phases where I’m a total personal growth junkie.
Now that the weather is getting more comfortable, I’m SO excited to spend as much time as I can outside reading in the park. Below are some of the books I’m planning on diving into this fall.
A little pro-tip for my fellow New Yorkers: I’m always SO surprised to find many just released (or even about to be released!) books for half-price at The Strand. I live close by the bookstore and always search the stacks for books I’ve been dying to read. I included the Amazon links below for the books (yes they are affiliate links, thank you for supporting this blog!) but also encourage you to support your local bombass bookstores or hit-up your library.
Happy reading and let me know what other books I should add to my reading list
Fall Reading List
FICTION
Little Fires Everywhere by Celest Ng. Whenever I ask for book recommendations on instagram, I always get a TON of recommendations for this book. I don’t know much about it, but people always tell me I need to read it!
When Kate Met Cassidy by Camille Perri. I loved Camille Perri’s previous novel, The Assistants, and I’m excited to read her latest book which is described as a romantic comedy about gender and sexuality.
When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger. Okay, the title is enough to make me want to read this book! The book is a distant sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, which I have not read, but I heard you don’t need to in order to know what’s going on.
Charlotte Walsh Likes To Win by Jo Piazza. Jo Piazza is one of my favorite authors right now — she co-wrote two of my favorites Fitness Junkie and The Knock-Off and also ghost-wrote Marriage Vacation for the TV show Younger. I’m not 100% sure I want to read a politically focused novel given the current state of the world, as fictional as the story may be, but I love Jo Piazza’s writing enough to give it a try.
Sophia of Silicon Valley by Anna Yen. I’ll admit I totally judged this book by it’s cover and knew I had to buy it. I love reading career focused books so I look forward to diving into this one focused on start-up culture.
The Favorite Sister by Jessica Knoll. I am SO excited to read Jessica Knoll’s latest thriller after devouring Luckiest Girl Alive. As a secret reality TV junkie (okay, maybe I’m not super secretive about my love of Top Model and Drag Race) I’m especially excited that this book involves both reality TV and a mysterious murder.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan. I’m totally late to the game on this one, but after seeing the movie with Jeremy I’m dying to read the book. We both loved the movie and I’m sure the book is even better.
The Glitch by Elisabeth Cohen. I’m not usually into sci-fi stuff, but this book sounds both funny and also like a very real look at finding work-life balance.
Personal Growth
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson. SO many bloggers have talked about this book and recommended it. I’m long overdue to read it!
Being Boss: Take Control of Your Work and Live Life on Your Own Terms by Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon. Being Boss is one of my all-time favorite podcasts. I’m so so so excited that Emily and Kathleen wrote a book and have been wanting to dive into it since it came out in April.
You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero. Another book I’ve heard SO many bloggers talk about. Truth bomb: I’ve tried to read this book twice now. Both times I wasn’t feeling it. I do think I need to read it when I’m in the right mindset and craving a good dose of self-help in my life.
Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk. This book is from 2009 but is still offers some meaty advice for creating your own brand online. I started reading it while I was in Europe this summer and got totally distracted on my plane ride from London to Copenhagen with all the blog ideas bubbling up in my brain. By the time I got back from Europe I was deep in thesis writing hell and couldn’t stand the thought of reading about personal branding. Alas, I want to finish this book as I’ve heard it’s super valuable.

Thanks for recommending Sophia of Silicon Valley. My friend is a assistant to a bigwig so I could totally relate to the stories! Fun Read!
