Hope you all had a good week! I feel like my totally flew by thanks to being home Monday + Tuesday for the Jewish holiday. Made for a speedy week of work! I’m excited to teach a few classes this weekend, spend some time with Jeremy and see My Fair Lady with my family on Broadway. I’ve been dying to see this show!
It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these favorite things posts. Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:
Think Coffee has Oat Milk. Which I 100% think is the superior dairy-free milk option.
✨
Currently binge watching: The Bold Type. I am OBSESSED with this TV show right now. It’s fun, about working for a magazine and very “millennial.” So it’s clearly right up my alley. If you love Younger as much as I do, this is your next show to binge watch on Hulu for sure.
✨
Currently listening to: Squirrel Friends Cocktail Hour. I’m totally hooked on RuPaul’s Drag Race recap podcasts. My all-time favorite so far is Alright, Mary, but I’ve been enjoying Squirrel Friends as well lately. Maybe I should just put my Drag Race obsession to good use and start my own recap podcast 😂

Currently reading: Smothered by Autumn Chiklis. I haven’t been feeling self-help books these days and instead have been reading some fun fiction (check my reading list here). Smothered is a cute book about getting your life together after college and is told through journal entries, text messages, social media and email. It’s a fun, quick read!

Currently eating: scrambled eggs + plantains with Lizano salsa. It’s the most delicious and easy to make breakfast after teaching in the morning.

Recently saw: Be More Chill off-broadway. I wasn’t going to mention this show because the off-broadway run is sold out BUT they just announce that it’s transferring to Broadway this winter. YAY!
I honestly liked this show more than Dear Evan Hansen and think it better depicted the awkwardness of being in high school. And I liked the music more #sorrynotsorry.
I’ve been following the writer Joe Iconis since freshman year of college and I’m so so excited for all the buzz this show has been getting. I look forward to seeing it again on Broadway.
✨
Also recently saw: Crazy Rich Asians. One of the many reasons I love Jeremy is that he has a soft spot for chick flicks. When he mentioned he wanted to see Crazy Rich Asians I was pumped. We both really enjoyed this movie, it’s a quintessential chick flick and therefore I loved it. I’m also excited it’s been so successful — how insane that it’s the first Asian-focused studio movie in 20 years.
✨
Also, also recently saw: Eighth Grade. Prior to seeing Eighth Grade I wasn’t familiar with Bo Burnham’s work besides knowing he sings silly songs. I’ve since watched one of his specials on Netflix, which is all over the place but also downright brilliant. His movie Eighth Grade is SO different from his comedy, but shares an equal level of brilliance. The movie is a brutal, realistic, reminder of what it’s like to be 13. An age I definitely would never want to be again. Worth watching for sure.
I think this is the first movie I’ve ever seen with a character named Kayla. Weird!

Wearing: Train Times 7/8 Pant from Lululemon. I now have 3 pairs of this pant… and 2 pairs of the crop version. It’s become my favorite legging for teaching hot yoga because they’re thin and dry FAST but they are also perfect for just about every workout.

Your turn: What have you been loving lately?

I’m so glad you felt the same about Be More Chill vs Dear Evan Hansen!! I saw Be More Chill last week and loved it – then saw Dear Evan Hansen last night and was sooo excited because of all the hype. I left super dissapointed!
Joe Iconis is just amazing. I love Pasek & Paul too – but Iconis’ songs just create such wonderful characters!
