Hello, Friday 🙂 Whenever I start off my Friday posts like that I think of the Flo Rida and Jason Derulo song. I’m subbing a sculpt class later today and you bet that song is on the playlist! I kind of love subbing on Friday’s. It means I can play Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night and *NSYNC’s Just Got Paid.
ANYWAYS…
This weeks favorites are short but sweet, but here’s what I got for you:
Mugs from Your Joyologist
Yes, the above mug does say “Fuck Your Fears.” Of course I had to buy it! Your Joyologist makes a ton of cute, uplifting mugs — that often times include F-bombs.
What I’m Watching
I finished binge watching The Bold Type last week and I’m still feeling emotionally lost without it. Only a slight exaggeration. To fill the void in my life I’ve been watching Queer Eye on Netflix and I just started watching Difficult People on Hulu. Difficult People is both so funny, but also so offensive that you wonder if you’re a terrible person for laughing at some of the jokes. Which means obviously I love the sense of humor on the show…
What I’m listening to…
Every Wednesday is Hip Hop Wednesday at Y7 and each week has a different theme. This weeks theme was 90’s Throwbacks. I’ve never had SO much fun putting together a playlist. I had to remind myself numerous times to CHILL OUT while I was teaching my Wednesday class. The hype was real, y’all. Check out the playlist here.
Saturday night Jeremy and I went with some friends to see Vulpeck at the Kings Theater in Brooklyn. The Kings Theater is GORGEOUS, one of the nicest theaters I’ve been to in NYC. I didn’t really know Vulpeck before the show but was totally amazed by how freaking talented they are and really enjoyed the concert Their vibe is a fun somewhat funk sound.
Last night I went to see Rupaul’s Drag Race alumnus and All Stars Season 3 winner Trixie Mattel in concert. I adore Trixie and am so glad I got to see her perform.
On the podcast front, yesterday I binge listened to 4 episodes of the Sex and the City podcast SPLAT! I’m really feeling these TV show related podcasts and keep joking with my BFF David that we should rewatch Lena Dunham’s Girls and discuss it on a podcast. Is that something you would listen to???
What I’m eating…
I went out to sushi with two of my good friends to Wokuni. None of us had ever been and it ended up being a total gem of a find on Yelp. We split edamame, a miso eggplant dish and a salmon, avocado and wasabi mayo dish as well as our own rolls on the side. We couldn’t stop raving about how good everything was.
If you’re looking for good sushi in midtown that’s moderately priced, I highly recommend it.
