Happy Friday! I feel like I’m slowly getting back into my groove and routine after traveling for 3 weeks straight. Teaching my first yoga class was ROUGH to say the last 😂 but I’m getting of the hang of things again.
Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:
✨
Celebrating my birthday
If you know me, you know my birthday is obviously my favorite thing everrrr. No matter how old I get, I’m still ALL about celebrating my birthday. My birthday has followed the same routine for a few years now: workout in the morning somewhere I love, get a massage, and then see a Broadway show at night with the boy. If it works, why change it?
This year I started off the day like most days with a Bar Method class — hey there is no where else I’d rather sweat it out on my birthday 🙂
I then got a massage at the Red Door Salon in Union Square.
Jeremy came into the city after he was done with work and we got sushi at my favorite place, Japonica. And then we went to see Hamilton on Broadway which was of course phenomenal.
Thank you all for the kind birthday wishes yesterday. I felt so freaking loved on my birthday

A weekend in the Outer Banks
Last weekend my cousin got married in Corolla, North Carolina which is part of the Outer Banks. I’ve never been to the Outer Banks and totally fell in love with the area. It’s a bit of a hike from the NYC area — we took a 45 minute plane ride from NYC to Northfolk, VA and then drove ~2 hours to get to Corolla. But the weather was surprisingly warm and my cousin’s wedding on the beach was stunning.
We didn’t have a ton of time to explore since we were only there Friday night until Sunday morning.
Friday night we had an excellent dinner at North Banks. My mission was to eat as much seafood as possible during our trip 😂 and I think I succeeded. My mom and I shared the tuna tartare appetizer and then I got fried shrimp for dinner. Everyone raved about how great their meal was. I’m sure this place gets crazy during the summer season but we lucked out being there in the off-season.
For brunch Saturday morning we went to First Light. The crab cake Benedict was SO good.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Corolla rather than renting a house for the weekend. It was right on the beach, had a lovely pool, and worked fine for us. If we stayed for a longer period of time I definitely think it would be worth it to rent a house, though.

Currently Reading:
Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Daisy Jones and The Six is a novel that follows the rise of an insanely popular band in the 1960’s through interviews with band members and producers. Obviously the book is chock full of sex, drugs and rock + roll.
It took me a little while to get into this book and get used to the interview format. But holy moly was the payoff well worth it in the end. I actually got really emotional from the ending which I did NOT expect. I’ve loved every book by Taylor Jenkins Reid (I’ve read them all at this rate) and this is no exception.
The Seasonaries by Janna King
I’m currently reading The Seasonaries, a novel following a bunch of brand ambassadors spending the summer in dreamy Nantucket. The book starts off with a gory scene that immediately leaves you to believe that things aren’t as dreamy as they may seem in Nantucket. So far I’m enjoying it as a light read (and it fit the beach-y vibes of being in North Carolina last weekend)

Around the Web:
• I love this article about what is really means to be “grounded” in your yoga practice. It’s a word I know I throw around a lot, sometimes without a lot of context.
• Are we addicted to the hustle?
• Some great advice on running a business when you’re an introvert. It gives me hope as an introvert!
• Is having a perfectly filtered feed on instagram finally out of fashion?

And you? What are you loving this week?

Hmmm…taking your class was pretty awesome 🙂
Teaching on a rooftop on a sunny day
I made a huge batch of red lentil pasta with spinach, broccoli, spicy sausage and a spicy red pepper marinara that was pretty delicious
I got my first DQ blizzard of the season, my not-so-guilty pleasure (S’more flavor = best)
