Hello, Friday 🙂 What are you up to this weekend? I’m looking forward to a travel-free weekend after a very travel-filled past couple of weeks. My only game plan for the weekend is teaching Saturday morning and then I’m looking forward to chilling out. I also think Jeremy and I might try to see the new Aladdin movie too.
Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:
A Weekend in Baltimore:
Apparently 2019 was the year I unintentionally became a travel blogger. I spent the weekend in Baltimore with the extended fam + the boy for my cousin’s wedding. My only experience in Baltimore prior was a very quick 2-hour lunch break at the harbor on the way back from my middle school field trip to Washington DC.
We stayed at the Four Seasons right on the water. Jeremy and I both could not get over how cute and charming the harbor area near the hotel was and we wish we had a few more hours in Baltimore to explore. We did make it to an adorable Greek restaurant Ouzo Bay, which is right on the water, for brunch. My goal in Balitmore was to get a crabcake in my belly. I succeeded thanks to the super tasty crabacake benedict at Ouzo Bay.
The rehearsal dinner at Roy’s Restaurant was also super tasty.Â
I managed to squeeze in an AM workout at the Balitmore location of Bar Method. You already know my thoughts on Bar Method 🙂
Jeremy is a very very very big craft beer enthusiast so we also went to Max’s Taphouse. I personally don’t drink beer (aren’t we a great couple — he doesn’t work out and I don’t drink beer…) but he raved about the incredible beer selection. The area by Max’s Tavern was also really great to walk around.
Like I said, I wish we had more time in Baltimore to explore. But it just means we have to find another excuse to make our way there again soon.
Shopping at Glossier
I’m planning to do a whole blog post on my recent shopping spree at Glossier’s NYC flagship showroom. Let’s just say I’m officially obsessed and love the simplicity of all the make-up products. I’m the furthest thing from a beauty blogger — I rarely even wear make-up these days minus a swipe of mascara before teaching. But I really dug all the products I got yesterday:
- Priming Moisturizer:Â It’s super lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy
- Perfecting Skin Tint: Also lightweight and provides sheer coverage to even out skin tone.
- Stretch concealer: Super easy to spread over blemishes and any awkward red spots
- Cloud Paint: a shear cream blush.
- Boy Brow: to keep the brows looking on fleek
- Lash Slick: I’m a mascara girl through and through. I like that this stuff doesn’t get all weird and clumpy. It’s also water resistant.
Dinner at Urbanspace – Vanderbilt
My two best friends from sleepaway camp and I always like to meet up at the Urbanspace food market on Vanderbilt. It’s close to Grand Central and we love mixing and matching various dishes for an eclectic dinner. Last night we each got our own lobster roll from Red Hook Lobster Pound and then I also got a fish taco from La Palapa’s taco bar. The after work rush can be a bit insane sometimes and we had to keep our eyes out for 3 seats near each other, but it’s always with the slight craziness for the really really good food.
Dinner at NIX
I always forget how good vegetarian restaurant NIX is. My good friend Leah and I met up for dinner there this week. I got the bamboo fried rice. It is SO freaking good.
Rice cake with Kite Hill cream cheese
I am OBSESSED with Kite Hill’s vegan cream cheese — it’s the best one I’ve tried hands down. All week I’ve been enjoying it as an afternoon snack on a rice cake. It’s simple but so tasty.
Nail color: Yoga Mama by Dazzle Dry
I’ve been getting my nails done weekly with my Glosslab membership (I’m going later today — it’s been well worth the $$). Last week I strayed from my usual turquoises and blues for a more simple pink. Even though I missed my signature color, Dazzle Dry’s Yoga Mama is a perfect opaque pink. I think I mentioned this before too, but I’m really digging Dazzle Dry nail polish for regular manicures. It dries in 5 minutes and you don’t need to sit underneath the nail dryer. One week later my nails still look great.
✨
And you? What are you loving this week?
