Breaking my own rules and posting this not on a Friday. Sorry, not sorry. It’s been forever since I’ve done a favorites posts. Gather ’round friends, I got a lot of things to share! Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:
This outfit c/o Everlane:
Tank // ReCotton Muscle Tee
Skirt // The Reconstructed Denim Skirt
Shoes // TREAD by Everlane
I’m a huge fan of Everlane. Not only is everything high quality (and cute!) but I also love their commitment to creating clothes at ethical factories. The above tank is made from 60% recycled cotton fabric. I’m OBSESSED with the skirt, it’s the perfect cute but not too too short jean skirt. And the shoes are the first carbon neutral sneak of it’s kind.
Getting my first spray tan at Sugared and Bronzed
I got my first spray tan for my BFF’s wedding earlier this month at Sugared and Bronzed. Prior to my appointment I was super nervous. What if I mess this up royally and end up like Ross did on Friends?
I am happy to report back that I did not look like Ross on Friends. The spray tan looked so good and helped even out my awkward tan lines on my back. I opted for their Express tan option and kept it on for a little over 90 minutes.
Jeremy had to lace up the super complicated back of my dress. He was REAL proud of his hard work 😂
My biggest complaint is I obviously sweat a lot on a daily basis thanks to being a hot yoga instructor. Thanks to this the spray tan didn’t last super long for me, and there were a few days where it looked a bit awkward and streaky. But I didn’t feel like an Oompa Loompa or anything.
The Vegan Scramble at Gregory’s Coffee
I’ve been on the hunt for a dairy-free breakfast sandwich of sort that I can grab on the go. My friend told me about the Vegan Scramble from Gregory’s Coffee and I’ve been scarfing them down a few times a week ever since. It’s the best find EVER since there’s a Gregory’s across from the Bar Method Studio
Ramen at Ippudo
Jeremy and I have been wanting to check out Ippudo, but I know the line is always crazy. We finally got in at an awkward time for dinner a few weeks ago. I ordered one of the vegetarian ramens and we split a chicken bun. I’ve been craving the delicious broth every since
What I Read:
My Favorite Half Night Stand by Christina Lauren // I finished this book in less than a week. Which is super quick by my standards. Once I started I could not stop. It’s the perfect quick, fun, read about a Millie, her group of close knit guy friends, and what happens when she accidentally hooks up with one of them.
Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand // Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of beach reads according to The Cut. I gotta agree with them: nothing screams summer like one of her novels. Like most of her books, this one takes place on dreamy Nantucket, but focuses on a not-so dreamy accident that happens the evening of high school graduation. It’s a bit slow at times, but I felt super invested and wanted to know what happened.
The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares // Like most of my female friends my age, I devoured the entire Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series as a teen. I’ve read a few other books by Ann Brashares (I loved The Whole Thing Together) and was curious about her first adult novel from a few years back. I didn’t love the book, I found the beginning to be slow and some of the twists and turns to be predictable. Overall I still found myself wanting to escape to Fire Island and go back to what it felt like to be a teen grappling with falling in love.
What I Saw:
I’ve been on a bit of a Broadway kick these last few weeks and saw the new Oklahoma revival, Waitress (again), Pretty Women and a few shows that have since closed.
The Oklahoma revival blew my freaking mind. I’ve never loved Oklahoma, but I really appreciated this new, strange, take on the old text. It got me thinking about just how messed up the original show really really is.
Pretty Women was cute, but nothing special. I’ve never seen the movie (I KNOW!) but am sure it doesn’t compared to the original.
I’ve seen Waitress a few times now (I might’ve actually lost count!?) and love love love this show. Someone I did a show with in high school is in the cast right now so I wanted to see him.
Jeremy and I also saw the movie Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. We must’ve spent another 2 hours discussing and dissecting the movie afterwards — so many things to talk about! I wouldn’t call myself a Tarantino fan, but I loved all of the 60’s LA imagery and the ending is so shocking and satisfying all at once.
