Hi, hello, it’s me! I’m still here, promise. There are a million things I want to tell you about my life right now… y’know like the break up with my very long term boyfriend… but I’ll get into that later.
Today instead we’ll keep things light and sweet with some favorites. Lots of food, fashion and things I’ve been loving below:
pictured eating my beloved vegan breakfast sandwich from Gregory’s Coffee while sitting on the beloved Bar Method Noho windowsill, obvi 😂
the align jogger from Lululemon
I swear these joggers are the epitome of cozy. Just what I want to wear as the weather gets chillier.
The pants are buttery soft and they are perfectly fitted around the butt area (sorry, not sorry) but then loose on the leg before tapering at the ankle. I bought a pair a few weeks ago and promptly purchased another pair last week because I’m so obsessed.
I personally wouldn’t wear them in the heated room, I think tighter pants wick sweat a bit better. They’re perfect, though, for teaching and taking barre classes. And I especially like changing into them if I’m heading to Bar Method after getting all sweaty teaching at Y7. There’s nothing more uncomfortable than putting on tight, fitted yoga pants when I’m already all gross and sweaty.
this blush tank from Lululemon
Just a heads up — my tank looks a little less pink and more grey-ish. I still think that’s the color I purchased.
I’m digging all the blush activewear that seems to be trendy this fall. I’ve been wearing this tank tied in the front (I don’t know, I think it looks better on me that way) and it’s been my new favorite outfit for teaching / taking barre paired with my joggers.
the Pack It Down jacket from Lululemon
I swear this post isn’t sponsored by Lulu, I just honestly wear of shit ton of their stuff thanks to working in fitness. I purchased this coat for my family’s trip to Ireland and England last spring and wrote about it shortly after. Well, I love it so much that I feel like I need to mention it again here. The coat ended up being well worth the investment — I freaking love this jacket. It’s perfect for fall, warm but not too warm, lots of pocket space and easy to carry (or shove into the carrying bag it comes with) when I inevitably get overheated walking around NYC.
Just a heads up — I ordered a size up from my usual Lululemon size so I could wear layers under it without it. Even so, the fit is still pretty tapered which is perfect for me.
the podcast: From Where She Sits
This week I’ve been binge listening my way through the podcast From Where She Sits. The premise is two women from two different generations discuss what it means to be a woman at different stages in your life. It’s so good, and interesting and makes me think about my stance on a lot of different things.
a [dairy-free!] pumpkin spice latte from Gregory’s
If you don’t know, now you know! I got mine with oat milk this morning 🙂
sushi dinner at Sugarfish
Oh Sugarfish, I love you so. My love for Sugarfish first started in LA, where the restaurant was also first created. I finally went to the Flatiron location last night with my friend Ali and forgot how good it really is. The fish is insanely fresh and the rice super tasty. I always order the “Trust Me” which is a combination of different rolls and sushi pieces. Warning: the wait can be insane so either plan to wait a while or go early — we went at 5PM and got right in.
tacos (and margaritas) from Taco Dumbo in Soho
Last weekend I met a few friends for tacos and margaritas at the Soho location of Taco Dumbo. Holy moly is their food GOOD. I ordered a combo with 2 fish tacos and 1 Dumbo Taco plus chips and guac, all for only $12. Not too shabby in New York. I ended up going back on Monday for more tacos in between my yoga classes. I think Taco Monday might be my new thing…
acupuncture at Tia
After going to my gyno in Westchester for 10+ years, I decided it was finally time to find a doctor here in NYC. I did a bit of research and decided to join Tia, a women’s health clinic offering gynecology and primary care plus things like acupuncture and holistic treatments. How freaking cool is it that my new gynecologist also offers acupuncture? My first gyno appointment isn’t until December as that’s when I’m due for my annual exam, but I decided to treat myself to acupuncture and cupping. Girlfriend needs all the self-care these days…
Bathroom selfies are totes forgivable when the bathroom at your doctor’s office looks THIS cute, right?
I don’t get acupuncture very often, but I’m always so happy I did when I do. I also found the cupping to help release some of the soreness in my back.
You can read about my previous experience with acupuncture here and the first time I had cupping done here.
Rupaul’s Drag Race: UK
Is it really a Favorite Things post if I don’t mention my love of Rupaul’s Drag Race? The UK edition just started rolling out here in the states and I’m already falling in love with these queens from across the pond. I’m totes rooting for Sum Ting Wong. Anyone else watching?
