I am currently OBSESSED with Mejuri’s adorable gold earrings. I’ve been on an all gold jewelry kick for a few years now. If you’re also into all the gold but don’t want to pay a stupid amount for a pair of gold hoops, I cannot recommend Mejuri enough.

The NYC Mejuri Showroom
I went to the showroom in Soho looking for two pairs of hoops to wear every day in my first and second hole. I wanted something I could sleep, shower and teach hot yoga in without them getting in the way.
The Mejuri store in NYC is super interesting — it’s actually a showroom, not a true retail store. This means you can go in and try things on but you won’t be able to bring the goods home with you that day. It’s not a huge deal, but something to be aware of if you’re looking for something to wear right away. You can order on the spot and get free shipping. If I remember correctly my package arrived 2 days later.
Pro tip: The store is SUPER crazy on the weekends. Expect to wait in line outside the shop on Saturday + Sunday. During the week I’ve always been able to walk right in.
My Favorite Gold Earrings: This Duo of Gold Hoops
I’m really happy I went to the actual showroom and didn’t just order some earrings online — I ended up going with a totally different set of hoops than I had planned.
The staff was SO freaking helpful and patiently let me try on every. single. size of hoops. I must’ve been there for a solid 30 minutes before I finally decided what combo of earrings I wanted for my first and second hole. Every single staff member I chatted with was amazing and offered really great advice for curating a whole “look” on my ear.
After trying on ALL of the hoops, I decided on the “Between Hoops” in my first piercing and the “Small Hoops” in my second piercing, both in yellow gold. I initially planned to get two of the Mini Hoop, which is sold as a single earring, for my second holes. I ended up liking the slightly bigger size. I’m so not a big hoop wearing kind of gal, but I’m digging the combo of the Between Hoop + Small Hoop.

Warning: They are kind of a bitch to put on. It took me a bit of wrestling with the earring to finally get them securely on. I was pretty close to desperately enlisting the help of my doorman. Eventually, I got them to clasp on. The first night or two they were annoying to sleep with because I think I pissed my ears off a bit in the process of getting the earings on. It’s been over 3 weeks now and I have no complaints. Just as I wanted I’m living, breathing, showering, sleeping and teaching yoga in them every single day.
Mejuri Piercing Studio
[Sorry, mom! Don’t be mad that I got some more piercings.]
Once a month the NYC showroom hosts a piercing event. I attempted to go in September as my post-break-up act of rebellion 😂 but I didn’t have enough time to wait out the waitlist before my dinner plans that evening.
Last weekend it finally worked out! I got to the store around 11:45AM. I waited in line for about 30 minutes to enter the store and then put my name on the piercing list. Once on the list, I was told it would be about a 3-hour wait, but I’d receive a text message. Luckily I live not too far away and ended up going home in between.
About 2.5 hours later, I received my text and was told to arrive in 5-10 minutes. I texted them saying I’d be there in 15-20 minutes and it was no big deal. Back at the store, I got to choose the studs I wanted for the piercing. At the piercing events, you only have to pay for the actual jewelry + tip for the piercer. I ended up going with a star for the left side and moon for the right side. Which reminds me of Songs for a New World #MusicalTheaterNerd. For piercing events the studs are sold individually but online they are all sold as pairs.
My piercing specialist Shannon was absolutely fabulous. She gave her professional recommendations on the best spacing placement for the piercings. Her vibe was also the epitome of zen, which is much appreciated when you’re about to get a needle stuck through your ear.
Showrooms in other cities also host piercing events according to the Mejuri website. If you’re in LA or Toronto I’d check the website for specific details for your Mejuri.

Your turn: Are you a fan of dainty gold earrings too? How many piercings do you have? With the addition of my new duo thanks to Mejuri I now have 7 (lobes + 1 cartilage.) Literally the most rebellious thing about me 😂

Kayla says
You have a far better pain tolerance than I going for the tragus, I don’t think I could handle it 🙈
Debbie says
I have 4 in each love, 3 cartridge in the right and both daith’s.
Kayla says
I’m impressed! I’ve had such bad luck with cartilage piercings otherwise I’d get more.
