Happy Sunday, all! I totally meant to have this post ready to go for Friday… but here we are.
How are you doing? It’s been quite the exciting week for me — as I shared earlier this week I’m moving! I’ve also had some new job opportunities fall into place for me that I’m feeling really excited about. There hasn’t been a lot of good news since March, so I’m thrilled for a week that’s been full of wins.
Here are some things I’ve been loving lately. Spoiler alert, as always it’s a lot of food-related things 😂
Live Aware Co.
A friend of mine from high school launched an ethically made loungewear brand, Live Aware Co. The clothing is made in the USA and is also sweat-shop free. A portion of every sale also supports a charity which is chosen every month. They have such cute stuff that’s totally my jam. I love the fit of this tank top! I have a feeling I’ll be wearing it a lot this summer with jean shorts, bikers shorts or yoga pants.
“Treat People With Kindness” Keychain
I’m currently going through a major Harry Styles obsession, as I’ve mentioned quite a few times. His song “Treat People With Kindness” has become a favorite of mine. I was excited to find a TPWK keychain on Etsy. Perfect for the keys to my new apartment! And really just a good daily reminder 🙂
Vegan Seitan Parm + Garlic Bread from John’s of 12th Street
Earlier this week my parents and I got dinner delivered from John’s of 12th Street. They have the most insanely impressive vegan menu — TONS of options! I ordered the vegan seitan parmigiana and vegan garlic bread and I was in dairy-free HEAVEN. I can’t remember the last time I was able to have “parm” of any sort. The seitan is perfectly breaded and is served over pasta. It’s a pretty big portion and made for 2 legit meals. I will definitely be ordering from them again soon!
First meal out in NYC: La Palapa
I had my first meal out since MARCH in NYC! Last weekend I was walking to my favorite brunch spot, La Palapa to order my usual takeout. I decided to switch it up and dine-in instead. I hadn’t dined-in at a restaurant since they’ve been allowed to do outdoor dining in NYC.
Eating alone in restaurants isn’t new to me, I used to do it all the time especially if I was in midtown about to see a show, but it’s something I haven’t thought about doing lately. I honestly had the most lovely experience, the staff there is always so friendly and helpful. I put my mask on anytime we interacted and made sure to leave a huge tip.
Going out to eat isn’t going to become a regular thing for me until it’s a bit safer, but it felt really good to switch things up and I personally felt really safe. The tables were distanced and I didn’t feel like people were walking too close to me on the sidewalk. I was able to relax, read my book, and enjoy my meal.
La Palapa has also added partitions in between the tables since last weekend. If you’re in NYC go support one of my favorite places — they do outside dining, takeout, and delivery!
Eclipse Ice Cream
I’m always on the hunt for delicious vegan ice cream options. I was super excited when Eclipse reached out to me asking if I wanted to try their ice cream. Yes, please! The Cookie Butter flavor is heavenly. Like Speculoos… but honestly better 🙂
Currently, the ice cream is only available for order online.
Tacombi
Warm weather makes me crave ALL the tacos for some reason. I’ve been ordering delivery from Tacombi a lot lately on Postmates. Their fish taco is rated one of the best in NYC… and I now get why.
