I was a bit skeptical at first about harem yoga pants. As someone on the petite side, I sometimes drown in more flowy fabrics. But I was curious to give them a try — especially these high-waisted ones from Buddha Pants. They looked SO cute on Instagram and felt a bit more my vibe.
Well, I’m here to stay that I’m officially a fan of harem yoga pants. And definitely think fellow shorties like myself can rock them.
Here are my thoughts on these high-waisted harem pants from Buddha Pants, plus some tips for stylings.
Buddha Pants Harem Yoga Pants Review
I opted to try the high-waisted San Fran Harem pant from Buddha Pants. These pants are made from lightweight 100% bamboo botton. A really cool things about all Buddha Pants products is that they pack into its pocket, making it great for travel or to toss in your work bag for an evening yoga class.
For me they fit true to size. I’m typically a size 0-2 in normal clothes or 4 in Lululemon pants and orderd a size XS.
Why I love them:
They’re SO comfy! As someone that spends 99% of my life in tight yoga pants (both in normal times and now…) my first thought putting on these harem pants was “Oh, that’s roomie!”
You don’t realize how nice it feels to wear something flowy until you’re actually wearing it! I recently saw a funny meme saying we now need something one step even comfier than yoga pants. Friends, this is that pant.
Soft fabric: Buddha Pants’ fabric is a super soft. It feels great while taking class but also lounging on the couch.
Super high waist: I’ve been wearing my pants with the waistband folded down halfway. I love that even folded down it’s still high waisted, but you can also play around with where you want the top to hit you.
Dress them up or down: I love a versatile workout pant that I can dress up or down. These look super cute both on the yoga mat, but also would love fabulous paired with Birkenstocks, white sneaks, or a wedged sandal and a cute jean jacket.
But how do these perform?
I wore these pants to teach yoga this week. At first I wasn’t sure how I’d feel moving in the with the extra fabric, but it honestly didn’t get in the way at all. I also felt SO cute to switch things up from my usual pants. I wasn’t planning on teaching in them, but had tried them on to prep for this blog post and was like “Wait, I love how I look and feel so comfy. I’m keeping them on!”
I personally don’t think they’d be great for a hot yoga class as I prefer a tight fabric that wicks sweat. But for normal yoga classes? Love them.
How to style:
Because the pants are so flowy, I like to balance that out with a tighter fitting tank top. A crop top is great for this because you can tuck them into the pants without having excess fabric. For a casual look I’d also pair them with a tighter fitting graphic tee.
I’m looking forward to this spring when I can wear them with my cropped jean jacket and white sneakers.
