Happy Friday! I feel like I always start off these posts chatting about the weather like I’m trying to make awkward small talk in an elevator 😂 so today I’m going to switch it up!
A little peek behind the scenes: The moving process has (slowly) begun. Don’t get too excited just yet… I moved a massive stack of books and that’s about it. Priorities, right? But it’s looking like I’ll be fully moved in SOON! I know what you’re probably thinking… f*cking finally.
Today also marks one month until my birthday, WOAH! This year has gone by fast and slow all at once. I feel like it was just yesterday I was planning out my 30th birthday zoom yoga class. I’m thinking of doing a similar fundraiser event this year, stay tuned!
Now on to the favorites!
On tap today: vaccines, a fab outdoor dining rec in NYC, an exfoliator I’m loving, the TV show I can’t stop thinking about, and lots more.
Getting my first shot!
My absolute favorite thing? Getting my first vaccine shot at Javits last week. YAY!!!!!!
As someone that’s terrified of needles, I never thought I’d be excited about a shot. But here we are. Of course, this isn’t over just yet, but feeling one step closer to “normal” is a big sigh of relief.
Dining Outside at Village Taverna
My parents and I recently outdoor dined at Village Taverna on University Place. They have a great outdoor dining set up with heat lamps and a few of those little private hut structures. I appreciate that they take reservations and you can specifically request outdoor dining.
The pita and hummus at Village Taverna is THE BEST. I could pretty much eat just that for dinner, it’s so good. I also love to get the chopped salad (without cheese or cheese on the side if I’m sharing with my parents) with grilled shrimp on top. The portion is HUGE and more than enough to share or have leftovers.
My parents and I both agreed that it was nice to have an almost normal dining experience. It was such a treat!
Oatly Vegan Oat Milk Ice Cream
I was craving ice cream last weekend and popped into my local bodega in the hopes of finding a dairy-free option. I was VERY excited to see they now carry cartons of vegan ice cream from Oatly, I LOVE their oat milk!
Just as I expected Oatly’s vegan ice cream was creamy perfection. I’ve tried a lot of vegan ice cream at this rate, and Oatly is now for sure one of my favorties. I got the vanilla and have been adding chocolate syrup and sprinkles. So good.
Wandavision
I’m not super into superhero movies, but a friend mentioned I might appreciate the new Marvel TV show Wandavision on Disney+ as it pays homage to sitcoms through the years. It is a strange, strange, show and definitely gets superhero-y as the season goes on, but wow did I also really love it.
The acting from Elizabeth Olson is phenomenal for starters. As someone that loves the format of a sitcom, it was cool to see how each episode parodied a different sitcom vibe going decade by decade starting with a very I Love Lucy style 1950’s sitcom.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. It sucked me in! I thought I was just going to watch the first 2 episodes and then ditch once it got too superhero-y… but I was totally hooked and watched the whole thing in 2 days.
Starface Exfoliating Night Water
I’ve been using this exfoliating night water from Starface for a few weeks now. My skin had been feeling extra and I was excited to stumble upon this stuff during a Target run in LA.
It’s definitely intense so use with caution if you have sensitive skin (I’ve been doing it every other day for the most part) but WOW has it left my skin so much smoother, more exfoliated, and less dry.
Bagels from Goldbelly
I wanted to send my friend I stayed with in LA a little care package as a thank you. We joked about New York bagels during my trip so I thought sending him a few would be a treat. My passion for why New York bagels are superior to all other bagels is another chat for another day 😂
Goldbelly lets you send local favorites from favorite cities like bagels from Ess-a-bagel, pierogies from Veselka, and lots (lots) more all over the country. It’s honestly so fun to flip through and makes a great gift. Last year for Mother’s Day I sent my mama some pierogies from Veselka and it was a massive hit.

this comfy bralette
I’ve been on the hunt for a comfy bralette that works both under everyday t-shirts and dresses but also can handle low-impact workouts. This one from Abercrombie has quickly become a favorite. Will do a full review soon!
