Hi All! Happy, happy Friday! I got my second vaccine dose yesterday (or should I say dos dose?) so I’m scheduling this ahead of time and keeping my fingers crossed for minimal side effects. Potential side effects aside, HOLY MOLY AM I EXCITED to be vaccinated. So many hugs will be happening in two weeks — and just in time for my 31st birthday 🎉
This week’s highs + lows:
High: (Besides vaccine things) The weather (it was in the 80’s this week!!!!) and making some serious moving progress to the new place.
Low: This isn’t anything new in my life, but I felt like a bit of a hot mess midweek. I kept knocking things over, misplacing things and was just overall feeling frazzled about staying on top of all the things.
outdoor (patio!) brunch at Wine:30
Last weekend I had brunch with a friend at Wine:30. They have an awesome outdoor patio in the back — the tables were super spread out and it felt like a surprisingly chill oasis in the middle of NYC. We shared the guacamole and then I got mussels as my meal. They were SO tasty.
this fabulous (and roomy!) tote bag
I kind of hate using a traditional purse these days. It just feels silly when I’m pretty much always wearing yoga pants and usually only head out for walks or to run an errand. I’ve been using the same canvas tote bags forever but was excited to see this Teardrop-shaped tote from Everlane. It can hold a lot (including a water bottle which I always have on me) and feels a touch classier than my canvas bag.
networking events with Six Degrees Society
Does the word networking make you cringe? Me. Too. As an introvert, I’ve always felt soooooooo awkward at networking events. BUT I recently started attending Zoom events with Six Degrees Society and it’s the exact opposite experience of that.
Right now all events are on Zoom. How it works is you’ll meet everyone at the beginning of the event. You break off into two different curated matches (no having to awkwardly approach a stranger at the snack table to strike up a convo) and then there’s usually a workshop aspect about things like avoiding burnout, using a marketing tool, etc.
I’ve been attending events for the last two months now and have met SO many incredible mostly women entrepreneurs. One of the odd silver linings of the pandemic is that since I’m no longer teaching every night, I can now attend events like this. Also, a nice bonus that because it’s on Zoom I can just arrive as I am which means probably no makeup, pajamas, and in my bedroom 😂

rewatching Younger
I’m so sad the TV show Younger is ending. Right now the final season is streaming on Hulu and Paramount+. I needed a background TV show that didn’t need my full attention while packing and organizing apartment things, so I decided to start rewatching from the beginning. There’s SO much I forgot about the early episodes — Charles isn’t even around until a few episodes in!
homemade iced vanilla latte
After some trial and error, I finally figured out how to make the perfect homemade vanilla iced latte 🎉 The secret? This vanilla syrup from Starbucks. Simply add 1 tablespoon of syrup and 1 shot of espresso. Add milk of choice (I used oat milk) and ice. BAM, iced vanilla lattes at home!
walking by the water
I’ve been feeling a bit trapped lately. Since I still haven’t been taking subways or cabs, I’m limited to only being able to go where I can walk. After over a year of this, I’m getting a bit sick of walking to the same nearby neighborhoods and I’m starting to feel a bit trapped by it.
I went on a little journey to the Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Tribeca (which might I add is also in the same building as a Barnes and Noble — it’s like they created my happy place) and instead of walking back through Soho like I typically would, I went over to the water on the west side to walk back to the village.
It’s a simple change. But wow, being by the water just felt so good. Now that the weather is getting nicer I have to remember to steer more of my walks to the water when I can.
