Prior to the pandemic most of my showers were super short. The goal was to get in, rinse off after a day of teaching hot yoga, and get out so I could get ready for bed.
Of course, life looks a bit different these days. My showers have become more of a long, drawn-out, luxurious ritual. You know there isn’t much going on in your life when you describe your showers as luxurious.
I don’t use the fanciest products, for the most part everything is something you’d easily be able to find at a drugstore or on Amazon, but I really love all of the below products so, so much!

Function of Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve been using Function of Beauty’s personalized shampoo and conditioner for over a year now. I wrote a full review of the product back in May and still absolutely love the product and the results.
How it works is you take a quiz about your hair and current hair goals. Then you can pick your own custom color and scent for your shampoo and conditioner. I wanted to focus on oil control, straightening, frizz, hydration, and shine.
I’ve noticed a BIG difference in my hair over the last year. I used to get keratin treatments but haven’t since Fall 2019. My hair now combats frizz MUCH better than it used to sans keratin. I didn’t bring it with me when I traveled last month and mean it when I say I missed this shampoo and conditioner so much while I was away.
It’s not cheap as a product but it does last a lot longer than I expected! I wash my hair roughly every other day or every 3 days and have only had to reorder once.

Luv Scrub
I am *very* passionate about this mesh body exfoliator. Prior to using the Luv Scrub, I don’t remember the last time I used a loofah of any sort. They just always seemed kind of gross to me? But now I know, Luv Scrub is the way to go. The mesh exfoliator is super easy to use and it does a good job at exfoliating but is still gentle enough on my very sensitive skin. And when I’m done with it, I simply rinse it out and hang it on my shower door handle to dry.
It did wonders for my dry skin this winter — and it’s also helped me to use less body wash. Win, win.

Olay Body Wash
I had the WORST dry skin this winter. I never remember it being so aggressively bad in previous years! When I asked my dermatologist for a recommendation I was surprised she told me to go with an Olay body wash with shea butter. I gotta say, it is really good stuff. I have really sensitive skin and am known to break out in welts or red blotches on the daily for no real reason. The body wash doesn’t irritate my skin, and the combination using this and lathering it up with the Luv Scrub above helped big time with my dry skin.

Olay In-Shower Lotion
I’ve always been intrigued by this product, I mean seriously what the hell is an in-shower lotion? It was another product that my dermatologist recommended for my dry skin and now I’m a convert.
The way it works is you apply this like lotion as the last part of your shower. Supposedly the humidity helps make it work. Rinse it off and you’re good to go with some silky skin. Sometimes I’ll follow up with a regular lotion too. Most of the time? I’m lazy and don’t, especially now that my skin is a normal amount of dry for spring rather than super dry like it was this winter. I find it leaves my skin feeling super moisturized and I don’t get that “tight” feeling I used to after showers.

Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser
I’ve been using this facewash from Cerave for the last 6 or so years. It’s the best — so much so that it was a viral sensation on TikTok a few months ago. It’s been great for my dry but previously acne-prone skin. I don’t have much to compare it to as I haven’t tried all that many facial cleansers besides the super intense ones I used to use growing up to try and clear up my acne (my. poor. irritated. skin!) but it’s felt like a good fit for my skin — plus it’s not super expensive and you can find it at your local drugstore.
