Happy Friday! It’s been an unseasonably warm week in NYC. As a summer lover, I’m ALL for it!
On the topic of sunshine and warm weather, today I wanted to chat about SUNSCREEN. I’ll be the first to admit I suck at applying sunscreen every day even though I know it’s what I’m supposed to do. It’s something I’m working on!
I know for me one of the reasons I’m sometimes hesitant to put on sunscreen is that I hate how it feels on my skin — some are SO greasy which is awful when mixed with sweat. The below products are far from greasy and I promise actually feel *good* on your face!
My Favorite Face Sunscreens
Unseen Sunscreen from Supergoop
Why I Love It: This oil-free and SPF 40 sunscreen is also a makeup-gripping primer. It’s super lightweight and leaves this almost velvety finish that I love. I actually find myself wanting to apply this stuff before doing my makeup because it feels so good on my skin under foundation.
I also love that it is water and sweat-resistant. This week I wore it most days sans makeup when I was walking around the city because I knew I would be sweaty 🙈
What It’s Great For:
- everyday use underneath make up (I apply it after moisturizer but before makeup)
- going to the beach, the pool, or any other time you know water will be involved
- outdoor workouts

Glowscreen from Supergoop
Why I Love It: Similar to the Unseen Sunscreen, this SPF 40 also acts as a primer. The texture is a bit different and it gives you a glossy, dewy finish. I love love love this stuff for days that I want to feel a bit sunkissed, but don’t want to do my full makeup routine. Laziness at its finest 😂
What It’s Great For:
- those days when you don’t want a full face of makeup, but you do want a hint of glow

Super Serum Skin Tint from Ilia
Why I Love It: I only just started using this all-in-one skin tint recently. I swear, it’s a miracle product as it’s SPF, foundation, AND skincare all in one little bottle. In addition to being SPF 40, it’s also got skincare ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide to hydrate your skin in the process.
As I’ve gotten older and better control of my acne, I now prefer light coverage makeup rather than intense foundation. For me personally, it leaves my skin looking even and pretty damn flawless.
What It’s Great For:
- everyday wear on days you want to actually wear makeup (I realize I might be in the minority as someone that doesn’t wear makeup most days and typically just wears mascara unless I have actual plans 😂)
- when you need a time-saving product — get your skincare, sunscreen, and tint all at once.
