Hiiiii! Happy [almost] Memorial Day Weekend. I figured I’d post my favorites a bit early this week. I hope you have some fun plans for this weekend. I’m pretty sure my big plans are unpacking and getting organized at the new apartment and maybe going with my parents to an outdoor concert in New Jersey. They are truly cooler than me when it comes to outtings.
Here’s what I’ve been loving lately including the album I can NOT stop listening to, a favorite restaurant for summer, and more:
SoulCycle Outside at Hudson Yards
I had done a few outdoor SoulCycle classes while I was in LA in March, but hadn’t gone outside in NYC yet. Sadly all of the outside locations are a bit far from me, but a few weeks ago I decided to treat myself to a ride in the tent at Hudson Yards. I’ve taken a few classes with Karyn over the years so knew it was going to be GOOD.
There’s really nothing quite like the energy of a group fitness class. I feel way less ridiculous WOOOOO-ing with a group rather than to myself in my apartment alone
Also, the location is really something — it’s literally right next to the Vessel. I haven’t been to that area since Hudson Yards was built and had so much fun exploring and then walking home on the High Line.
Massage at Great Jones Spa
I got my first massage since 2019 and WOW did I need it. It’s been a birthday tradition of mine over the years to get a massage either on my birthday or sometime close to it. I love massages but rarely splurge on them. My go-to place sadly closed (RIP Red Door in Union Square) so I went to Great Jones Spa at the recommendation of a friend. I loved my Swedish massage with JZ. I’ll definitely be back — and look forward to being able to take advantage of the relaxing pools when they are open again.
Taking a Flying Trapeze Class
On my actual birthday, I took a flying trapeze class at Trapeze School New York. I don’t fly as much as I used to but once upon a time, I’d fly 1-2 times a week. It’s still one of my favorite things to do.
This was my first time flying since last summer and woaaaaah was my body sore after! My lats were feeling it all week. Even so, muscle memory is an amazing thing and the motions of my favorite tricks came back to me. I’m looking forward to more flying outside this summer.
these cute graphic tees
I’ve been really digging the oversize shirt + biker short look lately. These cute graphic tees from Abercrombie (yes, Abercrombie) have become a favorite of mine. I think I now have 3 of them 😂 They’re super soft and just the right amount of oversized without feeling wayyyyy too baggy.
dinner at Seamore’s
Last weekend my mom and I went to Seamore’s, a delicious sustainable seafood restaurant in Nolita, for dinner. It was my first time eating inside again, although their inside is pretty breezy as they have all the windows totally open to the outside.
We shared the Baja tacos, a lobster roll, and the tuna poke. Everything was SO good (not surprising, it always is!) but the tuna poke definitely stole the show.
Listening to the album Sour on repeat
Anyone else shamelessly OBSESSED with the album Sour? I know I’m 31 years old and it’s about being an angsty high schooler but damn, it is just so good. I’ve been listening to it on repeat 🙈
