Let’s chat bralettes for summer! I’ve been on the hunt for a bralette that’s perfect for summer. I wanted something I could wear under both normal clothes (t-shirts, tanks, casual dresses) but also under loose workout tops for teaching and taking barre classes. I also know that come summer, I don’t want to wear underwire bras on super hot sweaty days in NYC. Blech.
For the last few years, I’ve been a fan of Everlane’s tank bra. I still love my old bras from them, but when I ordered more recently it seems they’ve changed the size and fit a bit in a way I personally don’t like.
So began my bralette hunt.
My favorite one I’ve found so far is this one from Abercrombie. It’s been perfect and I’ll definitely be wearing it a lot this summer. I have the bra in both an XS and S. I had ordered both sizes unsure of which would be a better fit and ended upcoming
Abercrombie Wide-Strap Cotton Pull-On Bralette for Summer
What I Like About It:
Super comfortable: The bra is made from this soft but stretchy cotton making it super comfortable. Exactly what I want after a year of wearing nothing but comfy clothes.
Adjustable straps: Even though I have the bra in two different sizes because the straps are adjustable I’ve been able to get a good fit for both bras. I know oftentimes my issue with bralettes is that the actual bra fits, but then the straps are super loose. No issues with that here!
Has removable pads: I know some people HATE removable pads, but I like having the option! Sometimes the boobs just need a little extra lift 🤷♀️
Gives you some shape: For me, it doesn’t totally flatten my boobs or give me a weird uni-boob.
Straps don’t dig: I find the straps on some dainty bralettes to really dig into my shoulders. No thank you. Because the straps are wider, they don’t dig at all. But they’re not too wide that they’re impossible to hide while wearing a tank top.
Versatile: I’ve been wearing it underneath muscle tanks while teaching, regular t-shirts, and also cute summer dresses that have wider straps.
Easy to wash: Very important if I’m going to sweat in this bra (which I inevitably will because NYC is GROSS in the summer). I’m grateful for a bra that’s machine washable and doesn’t require a lot of fuss.
Just a heads up, the bra is sold out in a few sizes. Fingers crossed it’s restocked soon 🤞🏻
