Hiii! Things have been a bit quieter over here lately. I’ll go into more detail below, but I thought I’d do a “virtual coffee date” today catching you up on things behind the scenes. Let’s dive on in!
If we were getting coffee together I’d tell you about… my new social media coaching business!
After over 7 years working in social media at start-ups and for solopreneurs, I’m so excited to officially be launching my social media coaching business! I truly love social media:
- I got my first job thanks to Twitter
- Met my best friend on Instagram
- Got my grad school internship thanks to Facebook
- Was able to launch a whole yoga business during the pandemic thanks to Instagram
- I spent 2 years devoting my life to studying it and have a Master of Science in Social Media and Mobile Marketing
If you’re a solopreneur or small business owner looking to better harness the power of social media, let’s chat! You can book a free 15-minute instagram strategy session here. And come follow the new account here for all things social media marketing!

If we were getting coffee together I’d tell you about… being back teaching fitness + yoga in studio!
As of June 1st, I’m back teaching barre classes at Bar Method – Noho and yoga classes at Y7 Studio! I legit got weepy teaching my first classes back! It was just such a flood of emotions being back when there were so many unknowns this last year.
It’s felt SO good to be back doing what I love — being a loud human at the front of a room just trying to make someone’s day a little bit brighter through yoga or barre.
I gotta admit, though, those first few weeks totally kicked my ass. After essentially hibernating for a year, this introvert was NOT used to being around so many people.
I’m feeling much much much more energized now — a mix of adjusting my schedule to make more sense and I think just being more used to it now. It’s good to be back doing my thing!

If we were getting coffee together I’d tell you… I’m officially moved into the new place!
After 11 (!) years of living in my old apartment, I finally moved into my new place. Moving is EMOTIONAL! While I am super excited to be in my new apartment, saying goodbye to a place I lived for over a decade is weird! In many ways, I felt like I was letting go of former versions of myself as I packed up my old place:
- The Kayla that was a theater major
- Kayla after college juggling many jobs
- The Kayla that worked at a start-up
- Grad school Kayla
- Full-time fitness Kayla
- Break up Kayla
- Pandemic Kayla
And all the other versions of Kayla in between. Moving is exhausting, exciting, and scary all rolled into one. But I’m feeling grateful for a fresh start right now… and to also finally feel like I’m settling into my new place.

If we were getting coffee together I’d tell you… I just finished the final season of Younger and I’m SO sad!
I don’t watch a lot of TV. Mainly just Rupaul’s Drag Race and a few shows I co-watch with friends. But I’ve loved Younger so so much. Leading up to the final season I rewatched it from the beginning and fell in love all over again. I watched the last episode this week. Overall I didn’t love this final season and imagine they had to make some changes due to COVID, but I really loved the final moment at least. Ugh, I need a new show to love!
