I recently started listening to Gretchen Rubin’s Happier podcast she hosts with her sister. Every year she does a list of things she’d like to do that year, according to whatever year it is. So this year would be 22 for ’22.
I love the idea of this list — some of the tasks can be easy to-do’s to cross off, whereas others might be habits to maintain throughout the year. I decided to combine my usual intentions and goals with a 22 for ’22 list as an easy way to keep track.
And ICYMI: I finally decided on my focus word for 2022 🎉
My 22 for 22:
- Hang up my mezuzah that’s currently collecting dust in a drawer.
- Get my two Harry Styles concert posters framed and then hang said posters.
- Hang up the gorgeous art piece my friend Leslie got me.
- Book a trip to an all-inclusive beach resort, even if it’s solo.
- Start a new job I love and am excited about.
- Celebrate my 32nd birthday in some big way.
- Limit myself to only buying 4 new books a month, max.
- Read 52 books this year — 1 book a week.
- Print out and frame pictures I love from my brother’s wedding.
- Use my nice things: The fancy candles, lotions, wear the cute dress, etc.
- Actively reach out to friends to check in and make plans.
- Get organized with how I plan out my content — I currently have a million different docs and it’s confusing.
- Keep my new plant alive! And give her some plant friends.
- Embrace more moments of silence sans podcasts or music throughout my day.
- Be better at monotasking and finishing the task I’m doing before moving into the next.
- Use my Peloton bike 2 times a week.
- Host monthly Zoom book clubs (and hopefully some other events, too!)
- SHOW UP. For my friends, in my businesses, and fully for every yoga + fitness class I teach.
- Floss 3 times a week.
- Post more personal blog posts that aren’t SEO-driven.
- Find a hobby that has nothing to do with work or making money.
- Have more fun.
