I hope you’ve been having a great summer so far. As always, the season is going by WAY too fast for my liking. I know as a blogger I’m supposed to love fall but nope, I’m 100% team summer.
I’ve been doing my best to soak up this season and take full advantage. This means doing the summer things I love to do like flying trapeze classes and going to the beach. I’ve also been on a total peach kick lately. There is nothing better than a perfectly ripe peach.
It’s been a loooong time since I’ve shared some favorites. I’m hoping this is the start of me going back to sharing them monthly 🤞🏻
Let’s dive on in…
A trip to Rockaway Beach
I love love love going to Rockaway Beach in the summer. It feels like you’re on a vacation far far away from Manhattan when really you’re only 2 blocks from the subway.
I recommend getting off at Beach 98 Street. There’s a great food concession and bathrooms nearby.
If you’re getting lunch or dinner there I HIGHLY recommend ordering the Tiradito Nikkei from La Cevicheria. It’s the most fabulously fresh sashimi-style salmon in a tasty sauce with avocado.
Pod Meets World
Did you grow up loving Boy Meets World? The actors that played Shawn, Topanga, and Eric have launched a Boy Meets World recap podcast called Pod Meets World. It’s so fun to hear them talk and share stories from behind the scenes of each episode. They’ve also had a few actors and creatives from the show on the podcast. As someone that grew up obsessed with this show, it’s felt like reconnecting with old friends and I’ve been enjoying rewatching old episodes.
This mascara is a new favorite
I’ve been a bit disappointed in my favorite mascara from Glossier lately. Someone mentioned that this mascara is a good (and clean!) dupe for it and I gotta say, I agree. It’s waterproof but is easily removed with warm water. The most important part? It stays put. Very necessary in the summer when I’m constantly sweating or swimming.
This tinted moisturizer
Now that I’m working full-time (and making TikToks quite a bit for work…) I’ve been wearing a bit more makeup than I used while I was just teaching fitness. This tinted moisturizer + SPF from Saie has become my holy grail of all makeup products. My skin is pretty dry and some foundations tend to get flaky on me. It goes on dewy, gives me a nice glow without feeling like too much make-up, AND has SPF 35. I’ve been using it pretty much every day
This hydrating toner

I’ve been on the hunt for something exfoliating for my face that isn’t too harsh on my dry but sensitive skin. This hydrating toner from Versed does the trick. I’ve been using it both in the morning after washing my face and at night after taking a shower. It’s made a huge difference with my dry skin.
Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen
Also on the skincare front, I’m still obsessed with Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen. I love how it feels on my skin — it’s almost velvety in texture.
I also like that it’s clear so I can glob it on without a mirror and not worry about how well I rubbed it in. A silly but very valid problem…
Into the Woods on Broadway
This weekend I went to see INTO THE WOODS on Broadway and it was incredible. I cannot recommend this production enough.
I had seen this same production at Encore’s back in May. It was great excellent then, but might be even better now. The cast is chock full of SO many of my favorite performers (Sara Bareilles, Brian D’arcy James, Phillipa Soo, and Patina Miller to name a few!) and a masterclass in acting. Go see this show!
The perfect pink nail polish
I officially have a new favorite nail color: Girlishly Giddy from Dazzle Dry. I’m a big fan of Dazzle Dry polishes (they use them at Glosslab where I have a nail membership!) because it dries in 5 minutes and usually will last 7+ days without chipping. I grew up loving the color Fiji from Essie and this looks very similar.
Going to The Color Factory
If you’re looking for something fun to do inside this summer (especially with kids!) I highly recommend going to The Color Factory in Soho.
The color-focused, interactive, museum has things like a blue ball pit and a room where confetti is constantly falling from the ceiling. I thought it was really cool that they had cameras throughout the museum that you’d scan a QR code for. They then email you all the pictures at the end. I’ve never seen anything like that before and it’s so smart! No need to ask for strangers to take a quick pic of you.
On the Fashion Front:
In this tank top and shorts set I feel like a VERY cute stalk of celery and I’m here for it.
I’ve been loving ALL the oxford shirts this summer. This pink one is my favorite with jean shorts. And I’ve been wearing this light blue one with biker shorts.
And last but definitely not least: how cute is this colorful romper?
